### ***** "After trying multiple apps, this was the clear winner!"
Spokenly was an easy choice for me. My bigger need was desktop dictation, and on my Mac, Spokenly was the clear winner. I love being able to choose different models and create custom prompts, which gives me much more control over the output.

What also sets Spokenly apart is that it’s more than just a keyboard. Some competing apps simply install a dictation keyboard, but Spokenly includes a full app with useful features that stand on their own, in addition to the keyboard. In short, it offers a lot more than many of its competitors, and I really like that.

It’s also priced extremely competitively — about a third less than many similar tools — and I personally like it better than the more expensive options. That made the decision simple.

### ***** "Sub or BYOK, does it all so well!"
Yes, I am using Spokenly to do a transcription right now. For people that just want to reliably transcribe things for free or very cheaply without much hassle, this works perfectly. And for those that really want a handle on the prompting and things used to clean up one's spoken speech, this app is incredible for that as well. I'm a big fan of BYOK (aka bringing your own keys) and this app allows me to generate keys from accounts I already have.

When it comes to reducing friction, in the context of interfacing with technology, this app is one of the very best you can get. Don’t sleep on this.

I use this on my Mac. 

I love how you can select the different models and test which ones work best for how you speak. 

The ones with real time transcription are great because sometimes I ramble so I like seeing what I said already. 

If you can’t afford a sub, the local models work really well and are free to use.

### **--- "Buggy for iOS Right Now"
So far It works great on macOS, but for iPhone and iOS, it really has a hard time working properly. A lot of times when I pull up the keyboard within an app, it takes me to the Spokenly app instead of just dictating what I spoke, and it gets caught in some weird loop. I'm sure this will get fixed soon, but for now, it makes it unusable in iOS for me. unfortunate because it works great in macOS, but I'm not going to pay for separate apps on both my devices.
