Description

Based on Sporty’s popular handheld E6B Electronic Flight Computer, the E6B app has been designed from the ground up to make the most of iOS on the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and MacOS on Apple Computers. The software is based on the tried and true formulas and algorithms developed over the years by Sporty’s team of over 50 pilots.

Its pilot-friendly design makes quick work of any navigational, conversion or fuel problem and it also performs conventional arithmetic calculations.

The advanced timer/clock feature simultaneously tracks Zulu, Local and Home time zones. The timer counts either up or down, and will display an alert when reaching zero.

the E6B is good, simple as that.

Excellent and user friendly (UK based pilot)

I have used an ARC-1 for over 20 years and had been looking for an electronic equivalent for a while. This app does everything you need for VFR or IFR navigation and flight planning of routes. Great app and worth the money.

Great app but why no hour/minute calculator

Excellent app, could with better Watch support

A wealth of functions make this a very useful app. I think that the interface is best on the iPad, but it works well on the iPhone too. The Apple Watch app works as well as the iPhone version once accessed, but it would be so good to see support for complications so that the app could be accessed directly from the watch face.

Good app for iPhone, not so much for Apple Watch

Lots of functions for the iPhone but crashes whenever I start the app on the Apple Watch.

Where is true altitude

Bought before my CX2 arrives to start learning altitude conversions and it's annoying that it does not calculate true altitude!

Mass & Balance Let Down

I enjoy the app and feel it is a great tool however you cannot use the mass & balance option. The problem is that when you enter a new aircraft profile and provide the basic empty mass of the aircraft and centre of gravity position, the system does not recognize decimal points. So my aircrafts CG position is 75.25 but it won't recognize the .25 having a huge effect on the moment calculated which would lead to my mass & balance being incorrect. It is also a pity that you cannot delete or rename the set entries. The system automatically inserts a rear passenger listing and two baggage areas. On the training aircraft I fly we don't have two baggage areas nor rear passengers and there is no way of removing or renaming these listings.

Essential Tool

Great little app that takes the stress out of in flight and pre flight planning calculations. A must have app for all pilots!!

Glitches

Current version is having graphics issues.

Sporty

I was critical of this app when it first appeared because it was geared for the US market with settings in gallons rather than litres; pressure in inches rather than millibars. But, the developers have made many improvements including those listed above and it is now an excellent application. It is easy to use for flight planning and good value for money.
