I can live with the confusing and illogical UI - it does its basic job of distributing pocket money and encouraging savings. The problem arises when your kid wants to take out the $3k he’s saved. Then you realise that there are all these very low transfer limits (ok, can live with that) AND that transferring $3k out of Spriggy requires it to be passed through your parent account, and that this requires a request through their helpdesk and TAKES 5-10 BUSINESS DAYS. You have go to be f’ing kidding. In what world does it take this long to get your kids money BACK when there’s no interest paid on it?? Especially egregious because the helpdesk request I put in yesterday which in their own words should be answered in “a few hours”still hasn’t even been read 24 hours later! Go to a regular bank account instead - all the same functionality is there and the UI actually makes sense. Now after my daughter having over $500 on her card while she’s on holidays, she has been locked out of her account. The bot wants me to change her user name and password on her phone but I am not on holidays with her and Spriggy doesn’t have anyone you can actually call and talk to. The Achilles heel of this app is how long it takes to transfer money into it. Currently we’ve been waiting 5 days for our last top up to appear in our daughter’s account. In the real world, the way it works with kids is that they are out with friends and need the money NOW, real time. Five days is an unacceptable lead time and their customer service is less helpful than reading the FAQ on their app. A bank debit card can be topped up instantaneously, and is less $$$ than the Spriggy annual fee.
