## Spyglass Description
Spyglass is an essential offline GPS app for outdoors and off-road navigation. Packed with tools it serves as binoculars, heads-up display, hi-tech compass with offline maps, gyrocompass, GPS receiver, waypoint tracker, speedometer, altimeter, Sun, Moon and star finder, gyro horizon, rangefinder, coordinate converter, sextant, inclinometer, angular calculator and camera. It saves your custom places and waypoints, navigates precisely to them later, shows them on maps and using real-time augmented reality displays detailed GPS info, measures distances, sizes, angles, and does a lot more.

COMPASS & GYROCOMPASS

Accuracy improvement techniques, special compass modes and calibration methods available in Spyglass only make it a real instrument – the most advanced and accurate digital compass.

FINDER, TRACKER & AR NAVIGATION

Spyglass operates in 3D and uses augmented reality to show real-time object positions, info and directions to them overlaid over camera or maps.

Save current position, add points from maps, manually enter location coordinates and bearings, add stars by hand or use a built-in star catalogue.

Find saved places and objects later simply by following directional arrows.

Spyglass tracks multiple targets simultaneously and shows their info – distance, direction, azimuth, elevation and estimated time of arrival.

Copy, paste and share locations, coordinates and map links using many supported formats.

GPS, SPEEDOMETER & ALTIMETER

Find and track your location and get detailed real-time GPS data – coordinates in dozens of formats, altitude, course, current, maximum and vertical speed, using imperial, metric, nautical and surveying units.

OFFLINE MAPS

See your and targets’ positions on maps using different map styles and alternative map providers – plan waypoints and measure distances. Offline maps optimized for retina displays are available for download.

TRACK STARS, SUN AND MOON & NAVIGATE BY STARS

Track positions of stars, Sun and Moon with arc second precision – use them as a reference to calibrate compass for maximum accuracy.

OPTICAL RANGEFINDER

Measure distances to objects in real time with a rangefinder reticle similar to sniper sights.

SEXTANT, ANGULAR CALCULATOR AND INCLINOMETER

Find out heights of objects and distances to them – measure visually and calculate dimensions and distances.

CAMERA

Take pictures overlaid with all available GPS, positional and directional data.

## Spyglass Reviews in United States

### *---- "Disappointed"
This app has many features that I wanted but are difficult to navigate, especially the instructions. Each request requires an authentication with your sign-in and password. That is just too cumbersome especially when working in the field or on a boat.
-- Sunrise46, 2024-10-20

### ***** "In my opinion"
This is the best navigational app?
-- HDBadBoyHR, 2024-10-19

### ***** "Well made and very useful."
I’ve had this app for years and use it often. I appreciate the developers consistent and continuing efforts to keep it current and add improvements. Helps me in work determining line of sight while setting up radio links. Highly recommend it.
-- Chinchillinator, 2024-09-07

### ***** "Great App, creator, update"
Don’t Panic 🌍👍
It’s a little confusing but it’s safe update.
If you’re new, this is great app and you should definitely try it out.

Kudos to the creator of this app for taking care of the longtime users.
If you’ve been burned by other apps, it’s understandable but don’t worry this dev is managing a transition as well as possible with the App Store framework. I upgraded mine successfully.

There is:
Spyglass, Spyglass Pro, and Spyglass Plus.
If you paid for to upgrade previously to Pro grab the new version, ignore the expired subscription notice, and Restore Purchase in the app’s settings menu. You will have Pro again.
If you had just Spyglass before v3,31 it looks like (ie I may be wrong) the developer is giving you Pro as well, which is generous.
There is also an option to subscribe right now to Plus at a discount for maps and places when offline. The Pro features do not need a Plus subscription.

I really enjoy this app. It’s very cool, has never given me problems, and does what it says. The creator is still maintaining it all these years on and hopefully this transition helps keep it profitable to do so for many more to come.
-- Zæphyr, 2024-07-31

### *---- "The creator turned a expensive paid app into a free app and then took away the services"
This creator needs to be banned from the App Store. This was a paid app a expensive paid app. Then they decided to turn it into a free app and make the features I paid for a monthly reoccurring charge.I already paid for this app in these features before. The developer is very greedy and this is theft!
-- Randy qw, 2024-07-28

### **--- "You now say it's free,"
But as a longtime paid user there is now a nag screen that appears whenever it's started. I give you one more update to fix before I delete and go back to commander compass.
-- LDRoadie, 2024-07-23

### ***** "Read. The. Instructions."
My god people. Click the RESTORE button to reactivate your Pro version. There, was that so hard? Great app. Thanks for taking care of previous paid users.
-- WA State Resident, 2024-07-22

### ***** "Great"
Options galore.
-- llaindellorrac, 2024-07-22

### *---- "Good app, terrible customer service, unethical business practices."
This was a good app. I even paid for the full version. Then one day I launched the app and was met with “your Subscription Has Expired.” Basically saying, you paid the price we ask for our app, but now we want more money from you. How about NO! I will bought a hand held compass. Buy once and done. Just like the original agreement I had with this developer. I hate Subscriptions for apps, especially ones I already paid for.

Update; AppDeveloper says; “It OK to hate subscriptions, but they are necessary…”.

In other words, we don’t care that you don’t want to pay for your app multiple times, or that we violate our original agreement with you. We like the money, so you lose.
-- CaptZaldivar, 2024-07-21

### ***** "Loved this app for years"
Out of the blocks - what a great-looking app! The UI is totally hip for those into sci-fi tech and it's on my phone. The app does what it says and lots of personal options to be fiddled with which gives hours of “playtime”. All that under the free model.

Now the cinch - Pro FREE - are you kidding me? Sweet and generous. Simply a beautiful, functional app. Well done all the way around.
