## SRAM AXS Description
SRAM AXS app connects to your smart devices, enabling personalization of your bike - and ride. That includes configuring components the way you want, keeping a close eye on battery levels and exploring cross-category integrations. (Dropper post with a drop bar groupset? No problem!)

AXS app allows you to control and learn from your bike, bringing new levels of interaction with AXS enabled components. Wake the bike and let it tell you if it is ready to ride based on the battery and pressure levels. The more you know, the more you learn, the more you love.

This app is genuinely more trouble than it’s worth. I think I must have used it successfully just a handful of times, compared to the many MANY times I have stood over my bike with my phone in my hand; waiting and waiting for the bloody thing to connect.

Currently the screen is unresponsive when I try to tap on ‘connect to components’ so that’s even less useful than usual. Just generally rubbish.

Can be tedious to get it to connect to components. I have never been able to update the firmware on my FD. No problem with other components. It just keeps asking to press the AXS button on the FD but never works, can see the battery level though. I’ve tried reconnecting everything from fresh.

Great app, really easy until the update. Since the update I have been unable to login, saying enter valid email address. More annoyingly I can’t even create a new account as my wahoo is linked to my previous one. Really annoying, waiting on SRAM customer services to reply.

However, some recent updates seem to log me out of the app which becomes frustrating.

Of all the things that the actual group set offers, the app experience lets it down. Would it be that hard to add a battery percentage icon once you’re connected? The green & red indicator gives no indication of how much battery is available. If we had a percentage scale it would add to to the user experience.

My shifter battery died while out on a ride (despite battery indicator showing green when I headed out). I swapped the battery but the shifter still wasn’t working - it turns out removing the battery meant the shifter buttons were unassigned. This is a big flaw but wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t needed phone signal (which I didn’t have) to sign into the app to reassign the buttons.

Suggestions: 

update the system so when a new battery is installed the shifter buttons default to something that works

Remove the need to sign in to the app with phone signal to use this basic functionality 

As others have said the hardware is great but I can’t recommend it because of these major flaws.

### ***** "Flight attendant fuss free"
After reading some reviews about the app I was somewhat worried. My experience relates to an XO T type system with flight attendant. I struggled initially to calibrate the flight attendant system with the power meter. I then installed the app and updated the firmware where available, once updated I was able to calibrate the system easily. I’m assuming the power meter was newer than the suspension system which then recognised it and all was good. So far for me it’s been relatively straightforward and the app has worked without issue. I’d go as far as saying I’m enjoying the experience. NOT APP RELATED (AXS BATTERIES) I did have issues with all 4 new AXS batteries indicating a fault and not charging. Repeatedly installing & removing the batteries out of the charger seemed to wake them from a standby/shipping state. YouTube came to the rescue for that, maybe SRAM need that on their site?

### *---- "Faulty battery connection"
I have had my mtb for 3 years and it was bought with sram axs. A few days ago the gears stopped shifting. I recharged the derailleur battery, installed latest firmware update and replaced the shifter cr2032 battery.

The shifter no longer works. I’ve tried 3 different new batteries but the led won’t light. I looked at the app and it indicated both batteries are fully charged.

I disconnected Bluetooth and removed the battery from the shifter. After starting the app again it had the same message that both batteries are fully charged- even though one of them had been removed by me. This app is very unreliable. I’m now going to have to purchase a new controller for nearly £200 when it’s been used carefully and looked after.

Summary- a cable is much more reliable than this electronic shifter.

I have axs xo1 groupset on my bike and it worked fire then all of a sudden it started running slow on the downshifts. That aside the app done an update and delated my rear mech out my bike prifile 🤷‍♂️ added again with not much issue. 

The app it's self since the update looks crap your bike profile looks janky ans you can't see stuff as easily. Think the old app was far nicer to use and look at this new one looks like a downgrade for sure

Components I cant fault but have not done many miles on my bike so time will tell. The app though, is useless. Takes repeated attempts to connect but, when it does, it’s only to the deraileurs, it wont recognise my shifters at all, just a “press axs button to wake” message, when they already are…..same message when it comes to updating the firmware on either front or rear mech either so I cannot update my components. Starting to wish I’d opted for Shimano Di2!

But I find it very frustrating that the app can remember my added bike but is unable to remember my drivetrain settings. Why can the app updates not remember my cassette is 10-36 and I want sequential gear change.

Since a recent update the zero offset/calibration view no longer works. Taping “Set Zero” briefly shows the loading spinner but then no value is then shown in the offset text fields as was the case previously.

I read the reviews of 3, 2 and 1 year ago & felt that SRAM must have improved it by now, but no: godawful instructions, no Bluetooth connection to a clunky app. Lots of stupid “wake up component” comments when it already is, can’t link to my components at all now. Have deleted the useless app. Shimano much, much better. Regret going for SRAM already & it’s brand new. If this is the best app they can make for their drivetrain, how reliable is that likely to be? Feel like I’ve been robbed.
