Getting started
You’ll need some data to download the app for the first time, but data charges no longer apply when using the SA app itself. If you have a connection, you can do your banking!
Transactional features are available to Standard Bank accounts held in South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Lesotho, Malawi, eSwatini and Namibia. Keep in mind that some types of payments include transaction fees.
Note that some features may not be available in your region.

Slow
This app really has tested my patience a few times. It’s so slow, the fact that i can’t access my banking app with wifi is so irritating. This is definitely the worst app ever. Please do something about it. I love Standard Bank but the app itself is absolutely diabolical.
The latest version is not working
After I updated to the latest version I can’t use the app because it closes down seconds after logging in.
Bad request error upon signing in
I have been getting a bad request error when I try signing in. I had just installed the app. I am not sure if it is no longer compatible with iphone 15
Worst Banking app I have used
This has to be the most frustrating banking ever, I’ve used Nedbank and Discovery and never have I battled as much as I have with this app.
Why does it want an OTP after the Face ID? I sit there refreshing my emails hoping that the sign in doesn’t time out. Which it does! Then if that isn’t annoying enough, if you work on another app for ten seconds then go back to this app it logs you out again, then you are back to swiping your inbox, waiting for that OTP.
Also, the UI is dated.
Disappointing
No improvement in the update. Still slow and cumbersome. Take a leaf out of Capitec’s book and see how it should be done.

The banking app aside
This is literally the worst banking experience I’ve had my entire life.
You don’t reply emails.
It’s just so discomforting.
Notifications sound missing
The app is good. But the recent move to use push notifications instead of SMS’s for MyUpdates should have a notification sound and vibration in addition to the actual notification. The notifications show up silently which is pointless. If you are replacing a service (and a crucial one at that), replace it with an equivalent - not a half baked solution. Please fix this
