The Starfall® ABCs app contains a FREE selection of activities from Starfall.com. This app is the first step of Starfall’s free Learn-to-Read sequence, which includes all of the basics for learning to read.

Starfall activities motivate through exploration, positive reinforcement, and play. Children delight as they see, hear, and interact with letters and sounds in words, sentences, and games. They learn to recognize letters while developing the skills they need to become confident readers. All children, especially English language learners, benefit.

Excellent phonics app

Helps small children understand phonic sounds of each letter Very engaging, my child could watch it for hours

Not working

Only a Black screen when I tap to open app?

Extremely disappointed

Isn't it misleading to have pictures of alphabets and games in the app when all the app does is just have alphabets and 1 word to learn? My son's 3, and already know all the words. Was looking forward to the games. This app is boring and not worth $4 at all. Disgusted.

Disappointing

I purchased this app thinking it was like the starfall website (which is brilliant) however it was just the alphabet... No games for kids to learn through and pretty boring. The starfall reading app that includes sounds/blends and stories is a lot better for value... Disappointed

If you want your kids to learn how to read use this software. My daughter has been through star fall since she was two and now at five she is reading. I think star fall had a lot to do with this development. Highly recommended to teach your kids phonics and the basics of reading. Well done to the team at star fall.

Best Alphabet App!

This is one of the best apps we have brought. My daughter loves it, and in very little time spent using it she has developed complete alphabet recognition and has started sounding out words everywhere she sees them. This is such a fun app, uses lots of play, they can use it totally independently and it gives them so much confidence and knowledge. I love that it contains such a variety of activities, and is not as repetitive as other alphabet apps. It also contains songs and rhymes and games, is so interactive, and is positive without being cringeworthy. I am looking forward to the next app from this company- that will take kids to the next stage of reading. I have been looking at lots of other apps since, and none of them are as effective as this one. Thank you for creating this app- its great!

Brilliant

Love this. I had no problem with audio on the iPod or iPhone. It's a bit simple for my 6 year old but my 2 year old is fascinated. He's learning to name everything, calling out letter names and sounds and learning to use the touch screen. He'll look at it with me for an hour at a time, and he's humming the songs as he walks around the house.

Waste of $

Bought this app after looking at the web version. Disappointing as sound only works on the action and doesn't actually say the letter out loud! Not sure how kids learning abc's will actually learn letters if the app doesn't have audio with what the letter is! Very limited for the 2.99 I paid for this. Don't waste your money on this app.
