## STC Turtle Tracker Description
Follow real sea turtles – Koa, Donna Shello, Haven, and dozens more – as they navigate thousands of miles across the world's oceans. Watch their journeys unfold in real time, learn their stories, and become part of the effort to protect them.

The Turtle Tracker app connects you directly to sea turtles fitted with satellite transmitters by researchers and conservationists. These aren't simulations – they're real animals, tracked as they migrate between feeding grounds, traverse ocean currents, and return to nest on the beaches where they were born.

Get to know each turtle
Every turtle has a name, a history, and a journey worth following. See where they were released, how far they've traveled, and what they've been up to. Add your favorites and check in as their tracks grow across the map.

Watch migrations unfold
Explore detailed route maps showing each turtle's path from release to their latest ping. See the distances they cover – sometimes thousands of miles – and the speeds they maintain across the open ocean.

Stay updated
The home feed shows you which turtles moved recently, highlights the week's top travelers, and keeps you connected to what's happening in real time.

Go Premium to support sea turtle conservation
Upgrade to unlock leaderboards, exclusive features, and – most importantly – directly fund the research and protection efforts that keep these animals safe. Every subscription helps Sea Turtle Conservancy continue its work.

Why it matters
Sea turtles are among the oldest creatures on Earth and vital indicators of ocean health. Whether they thrive or vanish says something profound about our ability to share this planet with other species.

Sea Turtle Conservancy, founded in 1959 by world-renowned naturalist Dr. Archie Carr, is the world's oldest sea turtle research and conservation organization. Your engagement — and your support — helps continue over six decades of work protecting these remarkable animals.

## STC Turtle Tracker Reviews in United States

### ***-- "Cool!"
I think it’s nice but a lot of the turtles have not been updated for 6 years! I think if there not getting updated there tracker should disconnect and they should not be on the app anymore.
-- Eliza Lytle, 2025-03-23

### ****- "Feature request"
I adopted a turtle for my wife's birthday and was surprised the app does not allow us to favorite this Turtle. It would be a nice improvement to the UI.
-- Marcw54, 2024-12-19

### ***** "Interesting & cool app, but some suggestions"
I really like this app, it’s cool to see the information given about each turtle and how you can see the active tracking taking place for them. I think some suggestions I would give is 1. To see bigger photos of the turtles once you tap their name and see their information (I know there are the small photos when you view turtles by name, and that you could get a closer look by going on STC’s website— but also having photos in the app through the turtle’s information page where you could possibly zoom in and get a better look would be nice.) 2. Being able to “favorite” or make a list of turtles you want to keep track of. Thank you!

### ***** "Amazing app"
This app deserves 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### ****- "love the app"
i love the app! they have such cute names and i enjoy seeing what they are up to but i hate that the app glitches when i click on a turtle on the “by name” section and the picture disappears. i wanna see what they look like but i can’t because it messes up!
