Not-So-Fun-Fact: There was an update for the main Steam app that added the messaging function. So why is it gone now?
Simply put: Steam thought that the only way to make THIS app useful... is by making the main app worse.
This app manages to be so bad, so awful, that its mere existence is making other apps worse. Think about that, then give this app the 1-star review it deserves.

Re-integrate the chat functionality back to steam mobile app. It doesn’t make sense to use 2 different apps. Chat was working in the mobile app earlier, so why have you removed this? I will not use neither this nor the other app if this essential features is missing in the mobile app.

In addition, the chat app was last updated 3 years ago. I'm pretty sure that the chat app can no longer be called „safe for use“.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather not use it.
