I have found Stelo to be a much more cost friendly way to monitor my BG as I was paying out of pocket before the release of Stelo. The fact that I am able to share my data with my doctor is a great benefit. I do have a suggestion to provide a touch slider in the graph to be able to toggle through the day’s data to see the specific BG numbers at any point in time such as where a spike maxed out at any point during the day. Right now reading the graph is a guessing game if you’re not looking for the current reading. That added feature would make Stelo 5 stars!
Works
**UPDATE** I discovered Dexcom’s free reports app “clarity.” While I’d like this in realtime in Stelo… they did deliver what I was after in one way or another.
**Original** I’m SO GRATEFUL dexcom made the Stelo… but: Graphing functionality is extremely lack luster. I can’t even see what the past numbers are. Are they 92 or 112? No one knows. Just a high-level graph. And I could use Apple health and third party apps, but the Apple health data load seems to be 2-3 hours lag.
Hides high values
I just was made aware of my high blood sugar, and bought this to have a starting point when tracking my glucose, and turns out, beautiful as this app is, it hides useful data (want to see the value when having high sugar to understand the spike? Nope!) Just gonna tell you it’s above 250 in the app, even though you can make a custom interval. Even worse, it doesn’t send those values to HealthKit either, so the only way to get the actual data is from clarity, which goes to great lengths to not tell you current readings.
If getting an approximate sense of your sugar while in normal or slightly elevated range, this is probably fine, but if you are hyperglycemic and not yet formally diagnosed and figured out, this app will not give you the data you need to understand what is going on.
Not working on Apple Watch
Love the app on my iPhone, but it does not work on my Apple Watch Ultra 2. Please update the software/firmware to the latest Apple iOS so it can work on the Apple Watch. It would be much more convenient to just look at my Watch for the information, instead of pulling out my iPhone each time. Thank you.
Everything is fine so far except the constant bugging about turning on notifications
I don’t want notifications. Telling me once that it’s advisable to turn on is enough. But it wants to tell me to turn on notifications every single time i open the app. Hope they fix this annoyance. I will come back and update my review if they do.
Recall glucose levels
The sensor works great. It would be great to hit dots on scale for those results. It’s hard to gauge on the right side for later reference.
Far worse than the g7 app
This is missing the widget and any export to constantly show glucose levels. Sharing needs to be included.
What is the point??
The app only shows current bg level and then a graph of the passed levels but you cannot click on the the graph to see what the highs or the lows are. What is the point? I need actual values.
Also it does not show on Apple Watch, it says “Check Stelo app on your iPhone”
Not useful at all.
It’s supposed to do one thing..
I’m sometimes wondering, who wrote this app? They made an “improvement” so now we get these graphics that there’s no way to read (you can’t click on a specific point in time and read the measurement value there). Why do I care I can view these unreadable graphs historically? I’m not even expecting this app to generate insights or anything intelligent like that, but tojust do what it’s supposed to do (allow us to read time, measurement pairs). For some inconceivable reason, it does not.
Super easy and intuitive but need some fixes
The app is super easy to start & use. I was impressed with the how intuitively it fit into my routine, diet and exercise.
One issue is the range. Why does the range stop at 70? For diabetics it’s really important to know if they are crashing or staying at 70, which is kinda ok. I also don’t think the reordering was easy. Good tech but make it easy to buy!
