Poor app!!!!
We CONSTANTLY get locked out of our account on this app - it is extremely frustrating. It’s to the point that I am going to refinance to another bank that has a MUCH easier online banking system that doesn’t lock us out every single time it needs to update!!!
I’ve gone in to the centre multiple times and I’m always met with below average customer service - I’ve only had 1 positive customer service experience in the 4 years I’ve been there. Fix the app and the attitude.

Really good app to use and navigate. Can see your balances without logging in.
Every update - back to scratch?
Every time I update, the app kicks me out & I have to enter all the different details all over again? WHY?? Other bank apps have sorted this, please fix or I’ll swap!
Also, enter your acces PIN just once and it logs you out and you have to start again. Every other banking app gives at least 3 attempts. Very unfriendly!!
Unreliable Dodgy App
Most the time to even log on I have to delete and re-download the app. Today after contacting customer support I had my first scan called in months and the app asked me to change my location permission all within an hour.
Review your support they are selling numbers and using personal information, fix your app so we can reliably log in and allow us to see who we sent money to without contacting dodgy untrustworthy customer support
Not efficient
Have to login multiple times, says there’s an error. When all my log ins are correct. Doesn’t allow me to log in with any short cuts such as finger print or Face ID.
FIX YOUR APP!
I’ve been pretty happy with St George after switching from CBA, but thair app is a massive step down. Fix the dated UI and I’ll be able to close my Commonwealth account for good
New customer
I’m a new customer just trying to get started but can’t even log into the app. Tried calling support but they just hang up or you get a robot who hangs up on you. Honestly don’t think I’ll progress with this bank. Fail.
Blerg
App has twice logged me out and I couldn't get back in with a password saved in my password manager. I “reset” my password and security number with THE SAME password and security number and voila! Back in.
“My offers hub” impossible to access. The link in the app takes you out of the app to a browser. You have to enter TWO long security numbers and a password to log in. Then when you are in you are told the session has expired. Rinse, repeat. Accessing via the Website - same nonsense.
I have been with St George 6 years and the user interface has not improved in that time.
One positive is the "contact us" button, which allows you to call customer service from inside the app so you don't have to verify your identity. The developer is responsive and apologetic here but the app continues to get bad ratings. What’s going on, St George?
For a seamless online user experience, I recommend ING direct.
Clunky but manageable until push notifications disappeared
The app has always been very average and misses the point of being simple and intuitive, but I could always at least get important features to work. Since the last update push notifications have stopped working and are no longer an option when setting up notifications, which is incredibly annoying as they allow me to manage my money effectively without constantly checking my account. Nil in the release notes but this is a very disappointing update.
Junk
A mess of native app and web pages accessed via the app that kind of work sometimes. But mostly don’t. Sometimes you’re getting logged out to use a feature. Or documents simply don’t download and you have to kill the app because there’s no timeout. Or you reopen it after doing something else and it’s just a white screen.
Feels like a bunch of project managers have utterly failed to comprehend how a banking app should work.
