StitchSketch was developed by a creator of the popular software program "KG-Chart for Cross Stitch".
This mobile version utilizes intuitive "touch" user interface of mobile devices.

Features includes:

- Design your own chart for craft works such as:
  Cross Stitch (Crossstitch), Bead Weaving, Iron Beads (Perler(R) Beads), Knitting pattern, Color Knitting, Pixel Art, and more!
- This is also suited for drawing "dotted" pictures (Pixel Art), such as icons in low resolution
- Convert your photo into a chart
- Draw chart with a symbol in a cell
- Maximum chart size is 250 x 250

### ****- "Not quite 5 stars"
The app works well once you get the hang of it which can take some time but still has the odd small issue.

A notable issue is when downloading a black and white pdf of a cross stitch pattern the colour key shows no symbol for DMC310. I’m not sure if there’s a fix for this that I haven’t found yet but would appreciate somebody getting in contact to let me know a way around it. 

When you load the app there is an option to press a button to pay to download their upgraded app.. I paid the extra and hoped that the more expensive upgrade would fix the issues I had with this app. I regretted doing that as the newer app had even more issues unfortunately. Apple issue me a refund and I came running straight back to this version of the app instead.
Persevere and this app will become easy to use over time

Very good app, have been using it a long time. There are a few clitches, it’s a bit fiddly to delete lines and resizing is difficult. But on the whole really good to use and I would recommend to anyone.

Love using this it’s so easy and I like that you can turn the files into pdfs.

 However I would really like to be able to switch to a preview page and see how the design looks once stitched before anyone actually stitches it.

The best on the market at the moment! Does everything I need. I would LOVE more features & a few changes. 

Other apps & programs fell short by long shots. This one is set up to make amazing original patterns! I make repeat patterns & this one is the best!

Thanks for this! I would love it if there were a few changes to make it easier & faster to create on! I would pay more for this too!

### ****- "Could be Perfect if it was more consistent."
This is still the only app I use for designing my knitting charts. Unfortunately, turning my charts into PDFs is very hit and miss, sizing-wise. Even when I select “fits to one page”, my chart often is randomly split into two pages. It becomes trial and error, and is a bit time consuming. Also recently, for some reason, if I leave the app open for a while, then go back to it, the chart seems to slip and freeze within the frame, and the various tools disappear. 

These are observations and constructive criticisms, not rants! It is still my favourite app and I still use it in spite of these glitches, but it could be totally amazing!

I use this for Cross Stitch & it is perfect. Allows all the functionality I need- full DMC pallet, backstitching etc. the pdf patterns can be made to fit to one A4 page so dead easy to get print outs from it too

Choosing the colour is one annoying job, as the layout doesn’t makes sense. It goes sideways and up and down at the same time in a small window. Also, a function of storing the colours you already own would be a great advantage…

### ****- "Bit of a learning curve"
(used for cross stitch only) This is a great app once you get the hang of it, but be warned there are no instructions in the app itself. The developer website has a range of tutorials and notes which are very useful to have until you remember how each button works. Sometimes it can also be a bit fiddly (especially when placing specialty stitches and back stitch) but works well with Apple Pencil.

This is a really great app to make cross stitch patterns. It took some time and playing about to work out the backstitch bit, but it was worth it. 

I’d love it if it was possible to digitally cross off the parts of the pattern I’ve completed IRL.

The app itself is very easy to use and I can design my own patterns easily. Only problem is the app keeps crashing! I can’t complete very much work at all before it crashes for no apparent reason. I can see there hasn’t been an update in a while so it’d be great if the developers could address this?

### **--- "Okay, but expensive"
Drawing lines is a pain, draw, deselect, undo the inevitable new line, start next line.
Can’t select the bottom colour in the right-hand list.
The latest issue, saved a file ‘Cat&Goldfish’, accepted it fine, then app froze, seems that an ampersand kills the program, lost the lot. No way to recover so I have to start again, no warning, nothing to say that an ampersand will cause the program to self destruct.
Not cheap and I expect better.
Oh, and cloud save/load, could you not somehow remember the directory!
Update:restarted and the bottom 3 colours won’t select now.

### ****- "Good but clunky UI"
Really good product for the price and handy because it is on my iPad so I don't often have to print out my plans. 

However, the UI is a bit clunky and in-intuitive. I also wish I could scale down when printing because it prints at twice to three times the size of the actual item which then necessitates that I cut and stick the pages together even when it isn't a very big design. 

But still a very good app and would be perfect with a few minor tweaks. Xx

I've waited a while before reviewing this app because I wanted to gain a real understanding of how it works. It would be unfair to rate it if I hadn't given it a real go. 

This app has the potential to be outstanding BUT I am unable to print my designs directly. The design aspect is really good but what is the point of designing if I can't easily print a chart version (particularly with b/w symbols) to sew my designs? Not everyone wants to work directly from their iPad/tablet. I've tried and tired to work out how to do it without success. This is frustrating and such oversight will ultimately make me look at another app that will deliver what I want.

Please fix this oversight.
