## StopTheMadness Pro Description
StopTheMadness Pro is a web browser extension that stops websites from making your browser harder to use, and it protects your privacy on the web. StopTheMadness Pro is not an ad blocker but rather a one of a kind extension with a huge number of unique features! Made by indie developer Jeff Johnson. The support link has documentation and my email address. StopTheMadness Pro includes extensions for Safari on iOS and iPadOS, Safari, Safari web apps, Chrome, and Firefox on macOS.

StopTheMadness Pro is a major update to the beloved StopTheMadness extension, adding automatic iCloud sync of settings between all devices, as well as countless other new features and improvements.

StopTheMadness Pro features:
• Stop websites from disabling user interface features in your browser such as text selection, copy, cut, and paste, drag and drop, contextual menus, AutoFill, ⌘-key keyboard shortcuts, and 2-finger tap to open links in a new tab
• Stop Google AMP
• Remove URL query tracking parameters automatically
• Stop clickjacking on Google Search, Gmail, Facebook, and DuckDuckGo
• Stop hyperlink auditing (anchor "ping")
• Stop tracking beacons (Navigator.sendBeacon)
• Bypass well-known URL shorteners such as bit.ly, tinyurl, and t.co
• Stop autoplaying audio and video
• Always show Safari's native video controls, including Picture-in-Picture

Truly a special extension, and can do almost anything. Its the all in one extension, is a joy for web power users and dev is very responsive. Also a huge fan of the buy once cry once business model. Don’t be scared by the price it’s totally worth it. So far it has replaced vinegar, baking soda, tamper monkey, Ghostery, and a couple other extensions. Universal purchase means it works on Mac, iphone and iPad, and all my rules and settings sync.

The fact that you have to install an browser extension in order to use this software is a problem and if it was made clear BEFORE I purchased, I would not have purchased the software based on an online recommendation I heard. Your privacy statement doesn’t assure privacy for people using the extension, it’s words, that’s all. I will try to get a refund but I suspect Apple will not allow it like they do with most software, and it will be for some arbitrary reason that makes no sense.

### ***** "An excellent all-in-one power tool for Safari"
The previous version was great, and this is even better. Rolls up a lot of features into one extension and gives you a lot of little tweaks to help keep yourself sane while browsing. I mostly set-and-forget, but lately I’ve been really happy about the site-specific settings I can set up.

The new “Pro” app has bugs that don’t seem to get fixed. For example, the “Disable on Page” check box cannot not be checked at all, so I have to temporarily disable the extension when I don’t want it active on a page. Another bug - I have the option “force link into a new active tab” checked for cross-site links, however it’s very unreliable because it only works sometimes.

What a great little bit of software. It's like a swiss army knife for browsing the web on Safari. I does the job of three separate extensions I used before, plus a lot of other functionality. Combined with AdGuard Pro my browsing experience is clean and safe AF. Reach for the lasers! 

Yeah it costs money. Good software costs money.  No one had a problem paying money for software before smartphone apps started accepting personal data instead cash. Now people think they are entitled to have every app for free. You could probably use 4 or 5 separate bloated free extensions that spy on you to get a fraction of the function of Stop the Madness sure, but would it really enhance your overall experience?

The developer has added more functions and refined functions from the original, the menus have many functions listed, to understand them and get a better idea what they do, go to the developers support site and they have a very good listing with explanation, I personaly liked the custom elements as I deal with many different things.

The baseline features (eg stop link tracking) ends up breaking a lot of websites on both Mac and iOS to the point where the extension is unusable. Very disappointing given how expensive it is especially compared to similar extensions on the App Store which do similar things. Maybe I’m not tech savvy enough to use this extension to its fullest extent, But it takes so much time to adjust its feature in such way, where the websites work properly. My recommendation would be to have a set of recommended settings that should make websites functional, and then in a sub menu have expert settings to tinker with.
