Story planner is awesome and definitely a lifesaver but it doesn’t have info for everything and i don’t know what “tags” are. I know they’re like keywords but i don’t know EXACTLY what they include.

Currently I love this app! It is great to organize my story and I LOVE that it tells you what certain things mean when I hit the I button. I feel it would be better if the story could be exported to google docs. This is because it is how I am easily able to share my books. Otherwise, Great app! Would definitely recommend!

Everything I need to keep my plots organized and keep track of story beats. The layout is streamlined and intuitive. I love how you can upload photos for each character and location; and there are sections to fill in what the character’s motives are, the role they play, etc. I’ve had ideas floating around for a while, and this app helped me to finally hone in and put structure to my stories. I also appreciate it being one-time purchase (and worth every cent!)

You have no idea how much time I spent scrolling in the AppStore to find this. Multiple days. This needs wayyy more attention than it gets. After using it, here is my review: The app is very easy to use, it makes brainstorming and organizing thoughts ten times easier than it was before. This app actually makes it fun for me to plan things out, a task I barely ever do. You can switch from light mode to dark, and change your main color to something else. It is very aesthetically pleasing and organized. This app has a section for about everything, you can even plan out specific chapters. It also has info buttons scattered around to teach you what certain terms mean for beginning writers! This app also even has a photo attachment ability where you can put images with your descriptions of scenery and characters. My only critique: Make it so you can add multiple images to everything and add a cover section where you can add an image for the entire piece. Other than that, a phenomenal app created almost flawlessly. This is a one of a kind app for a very affordable price. 10/10 recommend for all writers who need a jump on story planning.

*UPDATE* Oct 4th 2023 Developer responded. Thank you. I had no idea about revision mode, this helps ALOT! I will look further into your help section, I was not aware you had one. I will also look at your youtube again, to see if I may have missed explanation of revision mode (if you have one) That said.. your help section most definitely seems the place to go. It’s packed with information from what I’ve seen. Wonderful response on your side, to bring me there. Elevating you to ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ But if I find something else… 🤨 that disrupts my flow and no answers in the help.. I’m coming back! For that one star 💫 😊 All jokes aside, thank you for guiding me. I like the app a lot, now that I have a better understanding on the concept. ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Been using this app since 2019 for story planning of our VR game project, w/ a story script - worked excellent for that! Now in 2023… I am writing an interactive fiction - I wanted to write the entire story here in this app… Turns out, Story Planner app is not good at all for story writing. This confused me.. I assumed it did, because The App Store description, doesn't state: “not meant for actual story writing” The "Storyline/Premise" section misled me. It's just one row, like an Excel sheet, and other elements (project tags, Theme & Topic..etc) these all are very distracting while typing in the "Storyline/Premise" Why not expand it into a full blank page for focused writing when tapping on it, then shrink it back when done? Currently, this app seems limited to story planning. Almost like the massively popular “Anvil World Building” online program. Story Planner could be great for writing too, it just needs to expand into that blank writing canvas, but instead.. avoids it for whatever reason, almost as if scared. Fix this for a 5-star review.

I don’t know why this is one of the higher rated story editing apps. I was literally in the middle of writing something and it deleted everything. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to sync and re-sync everything because the programming is screwed up or something? I don’t know. I keep trying to make this work because I really like the format of the app, I like that I can add pictures and stuff to my work, but jeez, if your just going to delete my projects after I spend all that time planning them out and editing them, I just don’t think it’s worth it.

I adore this little app, but i really wish that it didn’t reset every so often like it randomly does.My work requires i switch from window to window frequently on my iPad, and sometimes i’ll swipe back to the Story Planner only to find my open notes or projects are cleared and reset to the main library once more. It gets really infuriating sometimes when I misplace where i was in my notes or character development, and time is really money for a writer with a huge project underway. Please fix this, Story Planner! Your app is amazing but this hiccup costs me valuable time and often throws off my work flow!<3

I’ve bought this app across all three devices, my iPhone, MacBook, and iPad, but for whatever reason, the purchase on my MacBook has not allowed me to save any of my projects, deletes them and doesn’t allow me to change anything on the projects I do have.

This is THE BEST PLANNING app for writers! The visual statistics for the scenes and plots helps me PROFOUNDLY! I LOOOVE Scrivener, but at times I can get lost in it and not focus on my planning/researching. This app helps to take out all the ADD distractions I normally get in scrivener and centralizes the meat of planning your book all while looking aesthetically pleasing! I LOOOOVE how it keeps my notes organized, because I’m a notes kind-of-gal. I write a lot of them. This app helps me to find certain notes I’m looking for with tags and color-coding (great for autism) all while keeping each note in a card with its own details! This helps sooo much!! Also, the fact that it can easily integrate with Scrivener is a HUGE plus! There are also several helpful information icons throughout that really help you to understand storytelling! If you have scrivener then I HIGHLY suggest you use this story planner app as its companion!! Especially if you struggle with storytelling due to ADD and autism!

I purchased the iPhone app as well as an additional app for my Apple laptop. When I type new information in my phone, it syncs to my laptop. But when I type new information in my laptop, it DELETES it, syncing the old information from my phone into the laptop. This makes the app only usable on my phone, but not my laptop.
