I downloaded this app in order to be free of goodreads since I don’t want to support the company behind it.
I understand that this app has a different approach but I really miss the social aspect of seeing what others are reading. This app is not good for that.
However, I think the Storygraph recommendation system is complex and give me quite accurate and interesting book tips. But you can’t easily browse books by genre. And the tags really should be clickable.
The app could use a dash of color, it’s a bit too white and plain. I would also love to see the cover of my current read presented on the start page.
The navigation system is illogical and confusing, i.e. there’s a back arrow in the top corner, even though I am at the starting point of the tab. Clicking the arrow takes you ”back” to another tab. That does not make sense.
I feel like this app has a lot of potential, the USP being the recommendation system. However it needs some development to be a bit more user friendly, mainly in the search and browse functions.
Log off all the time
StoryGraph by itself is amazing (great web version) but the app it’s quite annoying, the transition from one part to another it’s weird and I have to sign in every other day! Some days I’m just too tired to sign in
