## Str8ts Solver Description
Jeff Widderich hatte im Jahre 2008 die Idee zu Str8ts und entwickelte gemeinsam Andrew Stuart ein neues Zahlenrätsel, das ein würdiger Nachfolger von Sudoku ist. Es ist ein Puzzle, bei dem man die Ziffern 1 bis 9 in die Felder eintragen muss, wobei jede Ziffer nur einmal pro Zeile und Spalte vorkommen darf. 
Über die App kann man täglich neue Puzzles kostenlos herunterladen und lösen. Es gibt Puzzles in verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsstufen, so dass jeder etwas für seinen Kenntnisstand findet. Wenn es mit der Lösung einmal gar nicht mehr weitergeht, kann man mit Hilfe des integrierten Solvers die weiteren Schritte finden. Der integrierte Solver ist durch einen Backtracking-Algorihmus in der Lage, auch die schwersten Str8ts-Puzzle zu lösen. Wir haben bisher erst zwei Puzzles gefunden, bei denen der einstufige Backtracking-Algorithmus keine Lösung gefunden hat und eine Unterstützung des Spielers benötigt hat. 
Als weitere Funktion kann man auch selbst Puzzles, die beispielsweise in gedruckter Form vorliegen, von Hand eingeben. Ein Import über ein Textformat ist ebenfalls möglich.
Wir bedanken uns bei Jeff Widderich und Andrew Stuart, die uns die Erlaubnis zur Nutzung des Namens "Str8ts" gaben. Ein Highlight ist natürlich auch der Link von Andrew, über den er uns täglich neue Puzzles für die App bereitstellt.
