[This app is intended to be used with the Straight Shooter Laser Training branded laser cartridge.  It may work with other brands, but we cannot guarantee it. Even if they look similar, they may not produce the right laser dot size or brightness to function.]

Most dry-fire training systems forget about having fun!  Straight Shooter was built to help you improve while having fun!  You can safely train when you can’t get to the shooting range.  This will record your laser shots so you can see your performance and improve your technique.

Improve Your Accuracy in Just 20 Minutes.

While dry fire training doesn’t replace live fire training, It is an excellent tool used by the military and elite shooting schools.

Why?  Because you can fine-tune your shooting mechanics more quickly without wasting ammo.

Improve your aim in as little as just one-session.

Decrease target acquisition time so you can engage multiple threats effectively and quickly.

Fine tune your trigger pull – It doesn't matter how good you aim if your trigger pull is just barely moving your gun before it fires.

Dial-in your holster-draw speed.

While basically playing video games!

Here’s How it Works:

First make sure all firearms are unloaded and no live  ammo is in the training area.

Step 1:  Insert a Laser Cartridge Into Your Own Gun

Step 2:  Set Download Straight Shooter App

Step 3:  Set Up Targets -  print paper targets from within the app or set up a projector to mirror your phone and experience arcade mode! Where you can play against moving targets.

**Popular Question:  Can I use this with a TV?  The answer is no.  Unfortunately, the TV will absorb the laser light so that the phone cannot detect it.  However, a blank wall will not absorb the light - so it works!

We run this app on an iPhone 16 with the latest software updates cast on a projector screen.  The app can run great, then get glitchy after about 10-15 minutes of practice time.

The app is pretty good, and the games are fun practice; but if there were a bear attack draw and shoot game, it would be fantastic.  Having an adjustable distance and a few different scenarios along with that would be even better.

It might not have all the bells and whistles that some other laser training apps do, but it does what it needs, for FREE. My only change at this stage would be to increase the laser detection speed to work with higher frame rate phones. It would be awesome if the user could take advantage of the 2x optical lens on modern phones as well. Keep up the good work. Hope to see gradual improvements over the years.

This is by no means equal to the thousands of dollars training programs, but it is for sure one of the closest that we get as a consumer.   You have to figure out the phone placement against the targets, but once you do, it’s a solid home run. It shows the laser pull which indicates how you pull the trigger. Probably one of the benefits of this over a simple “hit”. I use multiple types of laser devices and everything works with it. Great product. Get it!
