Substack Reviews

redirection doesn’t work

I click Open In App in a paid newsletter email and it open just the app stores page despite the app being installed and up to date

Unsubscribing should be easier

Toghrul👀 on

Poland

it was so easy to subscribe from my mobile phone, but impossible to unsubscribe. I had to login from web browser to do so. I started and tried to unsubscribe from the app twice, then was prompted to go on web, i missed doing that and realized aftr two months that I am still paying for something I tried to cancel earlier. No comments to the product or content, all is great, just above mentioned case is not right and done specifically to have scenarious like mine.

Unable to confirm my number

When I write down my phone number to confirm it the button “send code” is greyed out. It is impossible to use app on iOS

The app is glitchy

duncanisgoed on

I’m trying to leave feedback in the app, but the form does not actually work. There is also no email or anything available on the website to reach out. This is on the latest iOS

Disappointing

Concerned user of the app on

Poland

I have lost a list of newsletter I subscribed to, so the app became pointless as I cannot read publications from people I followed. I also lost access to my own newsletter. Very disappointing.

I hate this app

maxwoj on

Poland

Words cannot describe how much I hate this app. Many reviewers make mistake of giving 5 stars because of content. Yet the content is NOT the feature of this app. Same content is available on the website. This app makes difficult to access subscribed feeds. Doesn’t allow to copy pictures. The font is small (probable they hate people with vision issues). You cannot configure notifications for selected feeds only. Hard to access saved articles. Total disaster. I hate this app so much it triggered me finally to write this review, as a for of rant. One needs to suffer this app to access great content delivered by great authors

Spammy app

fgnhrgh on

Poland

I’ve found one creator that i wanted to support so I’ve paid subscription and downloaded app. After that app subscribed me to tons of random articles that I’m not interested in. It also spams my email box (I’ve received around 10 spam emails). On top of that it’s impossible to find content that I’ve paid for…

Missing essential functionalities

oskar.filipowicz on

Overall, I think the idea is very good. A lot better than traditional email newsletters. However the app itself is missing very important functionalities, mainly: - bookmarks / favourites - without it, I can't save articles for later to read. They just get lost. - highlights - prefably with tags, and search functionality. With so much information it's the best to make personal highlights of sentences that summarize some ideas the best. My no 1 thing when reading on Kindle. Later on I can easily recall all ideas just by reading highlights. Nice to have: - pure black dark mode - a lot better for night reading than grey dark mode - search text in an article - ability to subscribe to normal email newsletters like in Stoop or Feedly - I know that it contradicts with a business model. However, it would allow users to aggregate their newsletters in one place instead of switching apps
