AR 3D functionality: SunOnTrack shows the sun’s position and path based on the orientation of your device with high precision. For identifying its orientation, your devices’ internal sensors are used. In order to achieve exact results, a calibration can be required by moving your device in a figure-eight-pattern and keeping it away of metallic objects.

Simple to use yet sophisticated results

Sun track is great for solar panels but the shading part of the app is seriously brilliant! Shading for solar panels is the hardest thing to identify unless you spend a lot of money. This does it in minutes for a few pounds! Indispensable if you are planning solar panels.

Tree shadows

In the short time I have been using the app it seems to be 5 stars. Plotting trees is easy detailing heights is easy. Being able to save locations is wonderful, and then edit them again is so good. I do have a wish list though. Wish list Being able to send each saved location to my email inbox with an aerial map showing shadows, date and time with an attached list of trees their reference number and height and canopy diameter would be awesome. I hope the developer can do this. Been worth the price it cost to buy.

Excellent App

I bought the Sunnytrack App for checking Sun exposure on a proposed new garden building. I also wanted an estimate of shadow positions. The shadow tool is simple to use and It’s been brilliant for both! It basically models any shape by joining points and specifying a height, so you can’t model sloping roofs etc but using common sense (e.g. a simple wall at roof ridge height) it clearly shows equivalent shadow position with any date and time. I will also be using it for photography (golden hour/ blue hour and sunrise/sunset positions). The map and satellite views are well designed and intuitive when you try them out for different purposes. The Sun position using the AI tool was a bit off on my iPhone but after I calibrated the iPhone compass, it was spot on (so not the apps fault! ) The AI view is something I will use a lot I think! All in all a great app at a reasonable price. Very happy with it.

Waste of time

Absolutely wasted my time, the shadow shown via simulation is not even close to the shadow shown on the image borrowed from google, it accurate at all.
