Does not make a sound when the phone is on “vibrate”
I used it for a few days. A notification popped up at the right time, but there was no alarm sound.
I emailed the developer. He said that Apple doesn’t let apps play a sound when the phone is set to vibrate. Only their own alarm program is allowed to do that.
My phone is always set to vibrate. This program isn’t useful to me.
Actually Works!
I had to download several apps to find one that would offer an alarm a fixed time before sunset everyday without having to leave it open all night, or pay a ridiculous fee for such a simple feature. This app does that. Thank You!
Not a simulator
Got this app because I’m looking for a sunrise simulator where the phone screen gradually brightens to full bright white before actual sunset in the winter (located in PNW). I plan to get a sunrise lamp, and this app was meant to fill the void for now.
Despite being called Sunrise Alarm, this app does not simulate the growing light of a sunrise. Now that I know this, I can see how “sunrise alarm” is what the app does, if you mean it triggers a regular alarm based on your local sunrise, but still—if you’re looking for a simulator, this ain’t it.
If this app *had* been what I was looking for, i still probably wouldn’t keep it because the alarm hasn’t worked for me with do not disturb or sleep mode engaged on my phone. The app directs you to leave the app open on your phone if you sleep with DND on, which I did, and it didn’t work on multiple trials. I refuse to sleep (aka cannot sleep) with my phone buzzing and lighting up all night, and the whole point of DND is so you don’t have to go through manually silencing alerts and whatnot before bed.
Sunrise simulator or not, this app is a no for me.
Purchase
Hi buddy
I like your app, I want buy it In the app, but it doesn’t work, I don’t know what is the problem, maybe you can fix it up, thanks.
Very cool
The app works great. I had a question about the alarm only sounding once and then turning off, and the developer got right back and explained that the app needs to be open for the alarm to repeat. So I have it open on my phone with the brightness turned all the way down and I’m very satisfied.
Good features
The choice of alarms is good, and I really like the option of waking before or after the sunrise 🌅
Cannot upgrade
When hit the button for upgrade nothing happens. Wrote to Nathan no feedback.
Sunset?
Why no sunset alarm?
I just want an app that has a gong when the sun rises and a gong when the sun sets. (which changes every day)
Fixed issue
Earlier I said the alarm wasn’t working. He problem was not with this app - it was with Do Not Disturb settings. Everything works perfectly now!
Wonderful!
I’ve been looking for an app like this for a while. Perfect! Love the customizable wake up tones!
