Und so funktioniert es im Detail:
Im Rahmen der App werden verschiedene mobilnetzbezogene Qualitätsmerkmale aktuell erfasst, und Sie erhalten Informationen über die aktuelle Mobilversorgung von Sunrise in der Schweiz.
Hierfür werden Ihre Nutzereingaben und Messwerte aus Speed- und Verbindungstest sowie Systeminformationen anonymisiert erfasst und an die Messsysteme von Sunrise übermittelt.
Die Daten und Messwerte aus der App werden in einer Sunrise Datenbank gesammelt und dafür genutzt, anonyme Statistiken über die Sunrise Mobilnetzqualität vorzunehmen. Die Verwendung dieser App trägt zur kundenorientierten Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung des Sunrise Mobilnetzes bei.

Funktionsumfang: Feedback manuell oder automatisch
Sie können den Verbindungstest manuell auslösen und im Falle eines nicht optimalen Mobilnetzerlebnisses eine präzise Rückmeldung an Sunrise übermitteln.
In der App lässt sich andererseits einstellen, dass auch technische Parameter (wie z. B. Funknetzinformationen) regelmäßig und automatisch im Hintergrund  erfasst und an Sunrise übermittelt  werden können (Datenverbrauch weniger als 2MB/Monat).
Datenschutz: jederzeit gewährleistet.

Ob manuell oder automatisch: alle durch diese App erhobenen Daten werden nur von Sunrise und nur für die erwähnten Zwecke im Einklang mit der Schweizerischen Datenschutzgesetzgebung sowie den Datenschutzbestimmungen der Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen von Sunrise bearbeitet (www.sunrise.ch/agb). 

Neben den Messwerten aus den aktiven Tests (Speed Test, Verbindungstest) werden unter anderem Lokalisierungs- und Nutzungsinformationen sowie technische (System-)Parameter erfasst. Einige technische Parameter (wie z. B. Funknetzinformationen) werden regelmässig erhoben.

Im Einzelnen werden folgende Daten an Sunrise weitergeleitet, bearbeitet und ausgewertet :
	MSISDN, IMSI-Nr, Gerätemodell
Nutzereingaben (Modul „Network feedback“)
Messwerte von durch den Nutzer ausgelösten, aktiven Messungen (Modul„Speed Test“) wie
-Download-Speed
-Upload-Speed
-Paketumlaufzeit (Ping)
-Internetverfügbarkeit/Erfolgsrate
-Dauer des Downloads
-System- und Nutzungsparameter
-Mobilnetzinformationen (Cell ID, Signalstärke)
-Endgeräteinformationen (z. B. Modell, Betriebssystem)
-Lokalisierungsinformationen (z. B. geographische Länge / Breite)
-Zeitinformationen (z. B. Zeitstempel der Messungen)

Einige über die App übermittelte Daten sind personenbezogen und können dazu verwendet werden, Sie zu identifizieren.

Keine Datenverbindungskosten für Sunrise Kunden

Der Datenverkehr der App ist für Sunrise Postpaid- und Prepaidkunden kostenlos. Bei Sunrise Mobilabos mit inbegriffenem Datenvolumen wird der Datenverbrauch der App nicht vom verfügbaren Volumen abgezogen.

The idea of signaling network disruption with the app is good. However, (obviously) the app does not work when the mobile network is unavailable or unresponsive. Therefore, it is practically impossible to signal network disruptions with the app!!

Software engineers need to understand the context of when the app is actually used by users. 

When network is unavailable the app is useless. That’s exactly the purpose of the app to signal network outages.

The solution would be to check the status of the network and store the data on the app (with a time stamp and location from the GPS) and send it to Sunrise when the network becomes available.
