Swann Security

Let me tell you how disappointed I am with these security cameras. I have spent hours trying to trouble shoot and research why my security cameras won’t connect and show offline. I have tried resetting the cameras, updating all my devices, resetting my router and nothing seems work. Some connected Sunday and it’s now Thursday and I can’t connect any (I have 4 solar cameras). I’m just about done with them.

It works

The integration of Swann with Alexa devices are the worst. It will not show a live feed with Alexa echo devices. It will show a black screen if tried to view from the Alexa screen. The app itself is slow

Camera’s are that slow at loading that by the time they load to the live view when you get a notification for motion if it was serious they’d already be in your house and through most of the rooms ready and on their way out.

Have had our 5 cameras for over 3 years, the resolution is excellent and reliable, it’s comforting to be able to keep track of what’s happening at home while we are away on the iPad, regards.

The swann security communications application on all platforms i find to be lacking features accessible through the physical hardwired NVR, Wifi Cams are at the all time lowest when attempting to maintain a consistent livestream, ending with the app freezing or closing. Nvr Settings- Lacks features allowing you to customise your camera to its full ability via the remote swann apps. This is the only active app that is half justifiable to continue using the brand however it is lacking in many ways, Flaws are starting to outweigh the worth. I am a huge swann user, however i am likely to switch to a newer and more justifiable Brand. Security is vital and app flaws are critical. Please take this review on, i am willing to discuss my thoughts. i am a junior software designer and would love to help improve this app before it’s too late. Cloud Playback recordings- The ability to find and play a cloud playback motion recording through the application on ALL platforms is majorly flawed. Having to filter through a timeline of date and time on the swann app is impossible. i think the application will benefit greatly if there were to be a system in place that is displayed with a snapshot of the preplay back recording in the same format as manual recorded clips are. rather than sifting a timeline make it in such a way you’ll be met with all playback in one spot snd you can scroll through the entire years months seeing those playbacks already accessibly available. it’s impossible to find them. you’ll select a date and the year to be met with no cloud recording found. and have to do that every day. of every month to eventually find a recording. before that is achieved the app usually bugs out and crashes.

I found the Swan Security System app extremely disappointing. While the concept is useful and it provides notifications, the execution leaves much to be desired. I received a notification about movement outside my home, but it took a frustrating 10 minutes to open the app and see who was there. Despite having a 300Mbps internet connection, the app’s performance was subpar, with significant delays and unresponsive features. This proves that it isn’t just a network issue but a poorly optimized app. I can’t recommend this product to anyone, as it feels like a waste of money. The WiFi camera also underperformed, and I’m planning to sell it due to its unreliability. The company urgently needs to improve their service and app functionality to match the expectations of modern security systems. Save yourself the hassle and consider other options instead.

They don't arm or disarm properly.

Constant issues with live view - images are not loading. Playback also not loading. Very frustrating

I’ve had this app for many years. It’s so frustrating that the playback videos don’t load. It glitches constantly and needs to be refreshed. Not very useful when I need to check recent activity. Please fix this
