Dev hasn’t updated app

JerryWooHu on

Gesture bar doesn’t go away when playing video. This is a problem when watching in a dark room. This was fixed on GitHub in late 2023, but the dev hasn’t updated the App Store version.

Works OK. No DTS 7.1, Atmos or Dolby Vison. Video issues on new Apple TV 4K

This app needs some work. Will not play video unless experimental force direct play is turned on. If this is off, video resolution looks terrible, if it even plays. I have a brand new Apple TV 4K red generation running latest tvOS. This app does not play tru-hd 7.1, Atmos or Dolby vision. If the movie is in 7.1 you will hear no sound. Must change to 5.1 format. Also don’t have your Apple TV set to Dolby vision. If you do, this app will not work correctly and colors will be messed up. Make sure your Apple TV is set to 4K SDR. Would be nice to have ability to add folders without having to go into media and then my folder. Add this to the home screen Tried the Infuse Player by another developer and it works with all the above without any issues. Only give this app two stars because it’s free. Hoping you can fix the issues mentioned above

app was great!

Fantastic app

This application is great. It works well on my iPad and on my iPhone, but when I use my HomePods on an Apple TV 4K the audio syncing is off just like one of the other reviewer said so hopefully that will be fixed in the future… other than that, it is an amazing app.

Thanks Devs!

I love the Jellyfin community! I’ve been using the software for a long time and am really impressed. This app has a clean UI and feels very smooth. Note for other users; this app is in beta. I’d download the main Jellyfin app to get the complete feature set

Does not work

Can't find local server. Update this it's been over a year.

Missing “additional content” feature on Jellyfin

MarchingMars on

Recently I found that the native client can not load the extra content in jellyfin server, which is named “CD-2” that a part 2 of the total movie. This makes user can watch a full version movies if it was a “CD-1”, “CD-2”, … series. Hope this would be fixed ASAP and I don’t have a GitHub account so I report this issue here.

It’s okay.

Still being worked on - it plays media well! My main complaint is that when I zoom it on mobile to make the video take the whole screen - it makes the captions unreadable at the bottom. They don’t move up to stay in sight :(

freaking awesome for apple tv 4k

i was upset when i contacted apple and asked if jellyfin was available on tvos they said no . but ive used plex before and was just going to deal with the downgrade of using plex again. the first thing i did was search for jellyfin on the chance they were wrong and this app popped up. and i have to say its nearly perfect, the only request i have is to add a shuffle button for watching random episodes within the series . but even without it this app is leaps and bounds better than plex. thank you to the devs .

Still slow to load/no refresh

Mandrake158 on

The app has come a long way, I remember when you couldn’t even watch live TV and kept crashing Would be good if it cached the list (no pictures. Or with an option to cache pictures too to make it faster), so it doesn’t need to constantly try and check the whole server (which takes a long time if the library is big) When you finish an episode, it doesn’t prompt to watch the next one, and if you go to home, the next episode doesn’t appear.. so you got to manually refresh the app and wait for it to load (or go to the series and choose the next episode) Also would be good if the app allowed which media folder to show/not show on home, and an independent live TV tab option instead of having to go to media->live TV (it would help specially on Apple TV as if you want to go to live tv, you have to go media->library and if you want to go back, you need to go to home and wait for the library to sync again) If the app cached the server list and refreshed at home to show the next episode, I would finally stop using the old web based one
