Switcher: Live Streaming App

I have been using this app for several years (in the UK) after discovering it, whilst starting a YouTube channel and my social networks (Euan Smith Music / Mobile Livestream Success). I have enjoyed improving my connection with audiences as the app has developed. This app allows me to use iOS equipment I already own, to create a production that is as good as any livestreams created using heavier, expensive and more technical equipment. The result is a powerful live-streaming / capture tool that creates high quality livestreams, without any technical experience, all from your iOS devices. I’ve used it to perform music live, create tutorials, convert full screen video to vertical TikTok clips (Reels, Stories etc), use the features in Zoom meetings, create live vertical videos, mirror an iPad screen, bring in my Mac screen (via Switcher Cast desktop app) and a ton more. A feature list is below. I’ve used the app to record workshops and people have been amazed at the quality in such a portable setup. Mobile livestreams are a big move as content creators look to build and engage audiences and brands. Version 8 is out soon and if I were you, I’d get this app to ready your products and services for ‘23 onwards! Feature list: Connect multiple video sources. Add graphics and multimedia. Stream almost anywhere. Invite Remote Guests. Edit live in the Switcher Studio iOS app. Cast your Mac or PC Screen Create tutorials, broadcast (almost) anything Be your own director or get a team. Create multi views that you can save Use audio from usb sources (usb mixers etc) Shoppable livestreams with overlays and Cartr integration Repurpose content into clips in a number of aspect ratios. Community: The Utah-based company have a brilliant online community ready to help answer any questions live each week. The team are lovely too and have really helped me grow.

Been using Switcher for about 5 years for both streaming and recording multi cam. We use 9 iphones paired with DJI gimbals all controlled from an iPad Pro. Have produced around 200 live music shows with Switcher as the central video ‘capture’ app. Love it.

This app has some really great qualities and really good features which is really good. But such a shame as it cost so much. The price I would say is quite ridiculous how much it costs if they lower their prices then it would definitely be worth it.

The app works fine, has great features and is easy to use; but nowhere in the store page is there any mention of trial periods or subscriptions. I only learnt about thus after receiving an (unwanted) e-mail telling me that continuing to use the app after 14 days would cost me upwards of $39; per month, which is an outrageous amount. The lack of transparency, and this extraordinary subscription price, mean this app goes straight into the delete pile.

A simple to use app that lets you record of broadcast multiCamera videos. Has a great amount of tutorials and help available to solve any questions you have.

If it was stable I would have happily paid for this app, it’s very useful for live streaming gigs from different angles and with intro screens etc. However....it’s too unstable when connected to Facebook, cut off too many times on full/strong WiFi it was embarrassing and not to be trusted as a business tool. I would have paid for a subscription but simply can’t trust this app to keep the live feed streaming. Also cannot see viewers comments from Facebook, so pretty useless without that feedback appearing in the screen. Perhaps this comes with a subscription but I’ll never know now

Got this app about a month ago. Started with the free trial and now pay a monthly subscription Worth every penny. I use it on my iPhone at the moment but am planning to get a iPad also. Great for live streaming with different overlays and camera angles.

If this was a £20/30 one off buy it would be amazing. I don’t get why it needs to be a subscription based app. It’s a shame because it really is a good app and easy to use.

...it doesn’t mention that you’re straight into a 14 day trial. It may help future users to know this so they can plan for testing it out in the trial period.
