## SYLVANIA Smart Home Description
The SYLVANIA Smart Home app allows Apple HomeKit users to easily update their SYLVANIA SMART+ accessories to the latest firmware version to incorporate new features and improvements as they become available. Setting up and upgrading your SYLVANIA SMART+ HomeKit-enabled accessories is quick and easy, with no hub required for use. After pairing your SMART+ accessories to HomeKit, use this app to check for firmware updates. Your paired SMART+ HomeKit accessories can be viewed within the app and a message will be displayed next to the accessory if an update is available. Select the accessory to update and the process will automatically begin.

These light strips have worked so well in my home…until now. Sylvania has pulled all support for my items and I now have no app to update firmware or anything. I am very angry that Sylvania would do this and will make sure to replace them all with lights from a different brand.

if i could have just 1 developer hop back into the reigns to remove the pop-up you get every time you open the app, that would be awesome. kinda ridiculous i’m still being told a year after the update “MUST READ!! New update coming soon. Push ‘Yes’ for more information.” i genuinely will never be purchasing another sylvania product after my experience with their bluetooth bulbs. i had my bulbs for 2 years before support was discontinued for this app. i just checked the other smart home app, just to see if bluetooth compatibility was a feature, and of course, it wasn’t. it is VERY strange to sell bulbs that require an app to perform main functions to then discontinue that app only two years later. to me, it shows a lack of customer service.

### *---- "Lights work, app doesn’t"
The only reason I have the app is because it’s required to use it to update the lights, which wouldn’t be a problem if it actually could see the lights. For whatever reason they are incapable of seeing the lights you have in connected with HomeKit, which means if you don’t set up the lights through their app, it can’t see them. I will not unpair every light just to re-pair it with their app. Other brands have figured this out, Nanoleaf is smart enough to just search existing HomeKit devices, just go there.

The only developer response I will entertain is "we fixed this". I fully expect selecting HomeKit to show me all relevant devices connected to my hub, any other actions will not be taken.

### *---- "BLUETOOTH BEWARE"
DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED
This is a disguised as something that works with bluetooth but in reality only works if you have a speaker system. The app is practically worthless and if you don't have a speaker setup the app kindly lets you know that "bluetooth disabled." Despite trying everything I could with my bluetooth settings and searching etc., and confirming that the bulb does in fact say bluetooth on the side of it, I've had zero success. No explanation or help or options in the app whatsoever. 
Useless. 
Now I have to drive all the way to the hardware store just to return this lightbulb individually.

The worst app coupled with the worst smart bulbs. Bluetooth is flaky and very slow to respond compared with my other brands of Wifi smart bulbs which are instantaneous. App is a train wreck. Avoid like the plague!!

This app errors on trying to download updates. Says that updates are not available for my device, a smart Bluetooth outlet that arrived from Amazon a few days ago. I tried multiple times. I also have some Sylvania smart plus lights and it did not work on these either. It can see them, but then will not update. I am using the latest iOS with Bluetooth and no hub.
