Symphony Pro- Music Notation a le mérite d’exister et d’ouvrir la voix vers la prise de note dans l'écriture musicale facile dans la mobilité. A ce stade du développement, cette app dont l’intitulé {et le prix} nous promet du « pro » est encore très artisanale. On peut effectivement rentrer des notes de différentes manières mais les limitations sont extrêmement nombreuses. D’abord, il ne nous est pas proposé de choix dans la police musicale : c’est souvent « moche ». La saisie se fait par des moyens qui paraissent souvent expérimentaux. Par exemple, la saisie à l’Apple pencil est tellement laborieuse et limitée qu’elle ne fait gagner actuellement aucun temps tout en laissant entrevoir ce que sera notre compagnon dans un avenir que l’on souhaite le plus proche possible. Notons au passage que ce mode ne reconnaît pas encore les signes de batterie. Il ne reste que la possibilité de faire des entrées de notes et d'exporter en XML en vue d’une édition sur une station de travail « plus raisonnable », ou la gestion des voix, des fonts, de la mise en page, j’en passe certainement, sera plus aisée. Que dire aussi de la « lecture » MIDI qui est souvent, dans le domaine de l'écriture musicale, synonyme d'étrangeté semble presque abandonné sous SP : avec un iPad Pro impossibilité d’interpréter avec un sentiment, par exemple swing, avec des timbres qui, lorsqu’ils sont plus de 2, peuvent s’additionner, et que l’on peut entendre dans tous les cas dans leur spectre respectif. Je pense que l’attente dans l’édition musicale est sérieuse et bien réelle. Quelques bémols, les exports par instruments buggent avec les lettrages d’accords, la mise en page est parfois compliquée (saut de ligne etc...), on est pas au niveau de finale et sybelius, mais ce genre d’outil a de l’avenir, et j’encourage grandement les developpeurs. Tout n’est pas forcément tres intuitif dès le départ, mais le fonctionnement est logique et cohérent. Notamment, les fonctions de transposition sont particulièrement puissantes, avec transposition des symboles d’accord notamment. De nombreux styles de présentation sont possibles, avec des notes de diverses formes. En ce qui me concerne, pour de la composition classique et jazz, l’app fait le job demandé. Je n’ai pas testé d’edition de musique contemporaine. Je n’ai pas encore acheté le module de notation manuscrite, essentiellement car je trouvais déjà la prise en main suffisamment compliquée. Dans tous les cas, il est beaucoup plus agréable et rapide de travailler sur Ipad avec le Pencil que sur un soft similaire sur un ordinateur. Étonnant sur une appli aussi coûteuse qu’on ne peut se faire rembourser puisqu’on ne peut découvrir le défaut qu’une fois qu’on l’a téléchargée et utilisée. Pour vérifier, il suffit d’écrire une mesure à 3/4pour le grand piano. Portée clé de fa vous tapez fa3 sur le premier temps (dans la porté) puis Sib3 Ré4 superposés sur les deuxième et troisième temps (au-dessus de la portée), le tout en noires bien sur. Portée clé de sol vous écrivez sur le premier temps un la 5 (au dessus de la portée) et rien ensuite. Vous faites jouer. Ô miracle: on entend le premier la fort, c’est normal il est écrit, et on l’entend à nouveau deux fois, moins fort, alors qu’il n’est pas écrit ... N’importe quel accordeur vous expliquera que ce battement sur la5 est dû au fait que la tierce majeure Sib-Ré est fausse ...
