Description

Symphony Pro 6 is a complete and intuitive app for writing music notation on iPad. It allows you to compose music for just about any size ensemble, from piano, symphonies, band, lead sheets, chord charts, guitar tabs, and more.

Starting Version 5, Symphony Pro now offers handwriting recognition as the only in-app purchase: Perfect with Apple Pencil, and works great with touch or capacitive stylus

GETTING STARTED

SP provides all of the key options to begin your work. Import a score via MusicXML, MXL, MIDI, or SP file from your computer, or from apps like Dropbox, Mail, iCloud Drive, or Safari. You can base your project on a template, or start a blank score and add additional parts later.

EDITING

To add notes, choose Pencil mode, and tap anywhere on a bar to begin editing right away. You can quickly specify note properties before or after placing notes. By switching to Select mode with one touch, you can also transpose, erase, cut, and paste multiple notes/tracks.

With an on-screen instrument, a QWERTY keyboard, or Core MIDI compatible keyboard, you can quickly enter notes & chords in step entry mode. Record a part in real-time with on-screen instruments to transcribe into notation.

Versions 4 & 5 take greater advantage of the iPad touchscreen. With shortcuts and contextual menus to edit note & bar properties, many of the commonly used editing commands are right at your fingertips.

SP supports a wide range of notational elements for your composition. Including dynamics & articulations, time & key signature changes, clef changes, pedals, and repeat conventions. Edit chord symbols, lyrics, and annotations using the iPad’s standard keyboard.

EXPORT & SHARE

When you’re finished, print out your score with AirPrint, or export it as a PDF, MusicXML, AAC, MIDI, or Symphony file. Share files via email or directly to another computer or iPad via Dropbox/iCloud Drive.

Projekt Menu funktioniert nicht

Die Funktionalität der App ist eigentlich super aber leider funktioniert sie nicht zuverlässig. Manchmal lässt sie sich gar nicht starten und sehr oft funktioniert das Projekt Menu nicht. Das Menu wird zwar geöffnet, wenn man darauf klick aber verschwindet wieder bevor man eine Auswahl anklicken kann.

Crashes

When it works, it is really good. But unfortunatelly it crashes couple of times a day, loosing the unsaved works.

Very nice application, would be really cool if we could also write figured bass

Harp

I just bought this app to write harp parts. Concert harp comes with one stage in treble clef .... hello? Quickest waste of money ever, will be requesting a refund.

crap- update

App crashes immediately- no chance to open it and... and... no contact or support page to report! this is dissappointing

Unfortunately lots of bugs

Not possible to work fluently anymore. Some features do not work correctly anymore. eg writing verses etc The app has everything you normally need. However there are some properties I would wish to have, eg to hear a singel voice (layer), even when they are written on the same staff. In this case it's not possible to mute the other voices.

Last update doesn't work with iOS 7.1 !!!

Die beste Kompositionsapp überhaupt. So viel Leistung für so wenig Geld und kann vieles, was auch ein richtig teueres Programm auf einem PC oder Mac kann. Super, Daumen hoch!!!

Why is missing the function of "piano roll"?

It would be appropriate to insert a system of editing as "PIANO ROLL", because he feels the lack of a similar function. For this lack, ... only three stars. 🌟🌟🌟 Sarebbe opportuno inserire un sistema di editing come "PIANO ROLL", poiché si sente la mancanza di una funzione simile. Crashes all the time

Searching for a remedy, this is what I found on the net: "Symphony Pro is kaput. They closed up shop without any goodbyes or explanation leaving everyone hanging. Nice of them. Apparently, it was three college kids that had created it. One of them went on to graduate school and since the code was outdated they abandoned it. The word then is that It will not return or be updated, ever."
