Is T-Smart legit?
🤔 The T-Smart app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The product is great . The app could be so much more with an update . For example I will mostly use the boost feature but my only default option is 1hr at 60c . I want 2hrs at 70c . But feel it should have the ability to be fully customisable maybe with different times (boost 1, boost 2 etc) like I can with a £5 smart plug from B&M . Sadly returning.
Could be so much more
This product could be so much more. For example could provide a nice graph in the app to show temp over time, could allow boost for a time period, could integrate with solar providers to use excess generated electric.
App super slow and glitchy
I have to close and open the app and check to see if it’s on after activated, most of the time is not and have to try again. Please sort this out
Rubbish app
This app is so poor it’s hard to see how something like this can be offered in 2023. Obvioulsy built by somebody with zero tech skills. Functions so basic and simple and yet does not work.
Simple but great…barely ‘smart’ tho
The concept is simple. Remotely monitor the temperature of the water and allow you to set a programme. That’s it. I’ve had it installed for about a week without issues so far. It took 10mins max to install the THITS version. The app is a bit basic tho and some things are not really ‘smart’. 1. The big number in the middle is the target temperate. It’s more intuitive if that was the actual temperate of the water, and the small number below was the target. 2. There is no indication of how long it’s taking to heat the water. I have it set for 4 hours in the middle of the night. I’ve no clue if it’s reaching temp in 1hr or taking 4hrs. 3. Some analytics in the app would be good. I want to see a graph of temperature overlayed with when the immersion is running. I want to scroll back through time to see what it did on different days, and i want to know how many kWh it used each day to heat the water. 4. As others have said, a countdown timer is critical basic functionality. If you turn the immersion on, you shouldn’t have to come back to remember to turn it off. That’s not smart. 5. If it’s going to have the word ‘smart’ in the name, then the whole interface needs to be more intuitive then it currently is. You shouldn’t have to read a manual to know how to use this.
UPDATE 12/1/2023 - the device is dead. Not turning on. Nothing on the screen. I replaced the fuse…and nothing. I put the old thermostat back in, and it started working immediately. I’m sending this back for a refund.
Nice but missing a countdown timer
Nice app, but it is missing a simple timer. I would like to be able to turn it on manually for 40 minutes or 30, 20 etc
Unreliable hardware and the app is horrific
On my second T-Smart Thermostat, seems to be a hardware issue. The unit switches in then constantly reboots and is useless.
The second one seemed ok for a few minutes then also started rebooting. After powering off and on a few times it came back.
The app tried to install a firmware update while not connected to the internet and that caused the device to boot loop again.
But I now have it running for 15 mins so far, but I have no confidence in it.
The app is a mess, but that could be fixed with updates.
The hardware looks suspiciously like an espressif ESP32 development board repackaged into a thermostat.
Disappointed
Had it up and running working fine for around 6 hours. Went on the app to check the immersion temp. App said no Wi-Fi signal. Went to the unit on the immersion and it was dead. No power whatsoever. Put back my old immersion and working fine. Must be a faulty unit unfortunately. Gutted as really needed this to monitor and turn on/off remotely.
OK
Works OK but not really ‘smart’.
Could be really great and definitely addresses a gap in the market in terms of monitoring cylinder temperature however no real access to data, no API etc, so currently pretty dumb.
Great in theory. Not on practice.
Have installed five. All five have been faulty. Four in the same way. Sent three back to Tesla. Have got three back. All three confirmed to be faulty and not have any issue with install. Fitted one of the ones I had back and that broke. Replaced with a wifi fuse spur. The other two I will just be selling on. Dealing with the company was great at first. Second time, things moved slow.
Product has been nothing but a head ache for me. Would advise you wait until they iron out all the problems and come out with a second generation stat.
Maybe I have just been really really unlucky. Lost time, money and energy. disappointing
