Great product
I am using it with a Daikin split system air-conditioner. I found it easy to install and it works well. The menus took a bit of getting used to, but now I understand them I find them easy to use.

What a nightmare
I’ve installed this app now my aircon is stuck on. Horrible to navigate. Spent hours setting up one device.
Absolutely love it 💯
We switched from normal thermostat valves to Tado in the middle of winter and it’s the best thing we’ve done to this house. Each room now turns on and off based on a set schedule and if you happen to leave the house (based on the location of your mobile phones) the system notifies you so you can turn off the heating till you come back. So cool. We particularly love the attention to detail such as knowing when to start preheating a room so it’s at the temperature you want at the time you want. Eg. Home office. Or if the system detects a window open it notifies you so you can turn off that room if you want. I think the app is fantastic and I found it very intuitive and easy to use with simple menus and settings. You can also manually override a setting from the radiator valve itself which is sleek and easy to use. Our savings so far are sitting at around 20-30% which is great. But the convenience of not having to go around the house to warm up rooms from base temperature or forget to turn them down or turn them off when you’re out is just what I love the most. The one thing I don’t get is ‘auto assist’. That optional feature should be free. That’d make your customers even happier which would bring more customers. Surely that’s more profitable than that annual fee I bet not many people take on.
This system fails more than it succeeds
It took an inordinate amount of time to connect after which the system fails to recognise if the air con is on or off. The open window detection I’m sure is tossing a coin to guess the status. Controlling the air con works less than 10% of the time. Seriously a waste of money.
Disappointing
I bought tado basically for the HomeKit and it's great for that, but the app is kinda disappointing. The layout is frustrating at best, useless at worst. I expect to open the app and tap the controls — not navigate through layers of menus and confirmations. Sensibo have a great app but no HomeKit. The Sensibo also has swing control - a glaring omission from tado. I also long for a basic timer but I can't rely on tado. Sometimes instead of turning off, it changes the mode to cool like it's some kind of default? I would love to switch back to the Sensibo but we're heavily invested in HomeKit. Very good accessibility and VoiceOver compatibility.
Just works
And when it doesn’t, the support is phenomenal. And that’s all we ever need :)
Pretty good
Only controls within HomeKit are on/off and temperature. Auto aircon sometimes works within the tado app but still limited.
Not Working
Latest version of app does not work in iOS 14.5. Opens splash screen and quits immediately.
Set up annoying
And I couldn’t get it to work properly despite spending a lot of time reading instructions, help guides and making several attempts. It’s the only HomeKit product I’ve bought, and I’ve bought a house full of them, that is this complex and failed to work. Returning f to the store. JB HI FI said it would have to be sent for the manufacturer for a refund, which is very odd considering I was telling them it didn’t work as advertised. The complained and got a store credit.
Coming from sensibo I miss it
Moved to tado for HomeKit. The status of the device is always wrong! The app doesn’t support the auto mode even if the aircon does. I really hope you improve the HomeKit performance.
