Worst support ever
I received a faulty A/C Controller where the Apple HomeKit code is not working and therefore not letting me add the device to my Apple Home.
I’ve been talking to the support team for over a week now with yet not a solution. How hard can it be to reassign the device a new code, or refresh the old code?
The support team lacks technical capabilities, understanding and professionalism. I think I’m through the 5th supporter on the chat where they still are trying to “understand” the problem.
As a customer, I don’t care weather you understand it or not as long as you get the device to work - if you can’t fix it right away, send a new one, retrieve the old one and than you can analyze the device to understand the problem.
For a company focused on smart home, IT support should be a no brainer, but apparently the whole system is wrongly managed.
I’ve used Tado for years and in general I’ve been really happy for it, but when it comes to extras (multi home capabilities, integrations, support) it is really a product still in development, from a company that does not work agile at all - so I would advice going to Sensibo or Eve which are much more stable and well supported.
Keep putting features behind paywall
Since I bought this unit they have put features that used to be free behind a paywall subscription. Can you imagine? I have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use the dial on my own heater ad infinitum.
What kind of late stage capitalist dystopian nightmare are we living in? This is the hardware equivalent of having to pay to use the bathroom on a long haul flight. Predatory at best. At worst unimaginative and the kind of mundane evil that will destroy the human race.
The greed and laziness of this company is astounding. I used to think innovation and creating value for customers was how technology firms were supposed to make money. Not this unselfconsciously sweaty attempt at a cash grab from a captive audience.
I will never ever recommend this to anyone. The first chance I get I will switch to a competitor. Terrible. Truly god awful nonsense. May the people who came of with this hairball scheme contract slow acting and debilitating diseases of the genitals.
Open Windows detection
I really love my tados but the open windows detection function is not working properly. I really often have to turn off the heat my self and I’m even paying for it. My termostat is just under the window so it can’t be the problem. I hope you will fix it soon!
Good but could be better
I need an option like Netatmo have where you can control all the thermostats at once. So that I can set all thermostats to 20C and not having to adjust every single one individually all the time

Buggy, crude system
“Open window detected!” No open windows. Got this a million times till I switched it off. So buggy it’s useless.
Latest, I got notifications - even emails - stating that one of the sensors need new batteries. In the app, however, it says the battery is “good”.
Fixing this shouldn’t be rocket science.

Fungerer fint. Har sparet ca. 15% i varme i 22/23. Læs vejledning grundigt. Husk at skifte batterier på termostater😄. Lad være at investere penge og tid, hvis ikke du gider sætte dig ind i, hvordan det fungerer. Hvis du har styr på det, kan sambo også få glæde af systemet, via app.
Basic functions not available ….
Can’t set any heating limits 😂 Makes it much more EXPENSIVE to use for many of our radiators. It returns too much heat when you have central heating.
App is stable.
Thermostats uses too much energy.
