Have nothing but problems with the tado system. Wireless receiver consistently disconnecting, no helpful articles to fix issue. A customer service that solely relies on a chatbot to help you even in an "emergency". Worst thing I ever invested in
Good system, products and app - bad company approach to customers
The system is solid has very little problems.
The app is solid and very little bugs.
Apple home integration is good.
But the big problem I have with Tado is their company approach.
And now in latest version of the App, they have added Ads!
I already spent a lot of money on this expensive system, don’t sell my data and puts ads onto the Home Screen.
The scheduling system is centralised requiring internet, to enables data harvesting of customer data and usage.
If you lose internet in your house or don’t want this, it’s reduced to manual control. I was tolerating this given there are some open source tech workarounds.
And now app has Tado Promo Ads are being injected into the app Home Screen. Please Tado find better ways to make money from your customers and don’t ruin a good product.
Not a great app
Not impressed by the app. No simple ‘boost for 20mins’ type thing.
This morning I turned on boost as it had dropped out of schedule. After a while turned down the temp on the app so the colour changed green. Presumed this meant the heat was off. Not so.
Temp sensor also seems slow to respond.
Also have a schedule set up so heat comes on for 30 mins in morn and evening. But it seems to stay on outside of these times despite temp being over the cut off point selected.
Difficulty loading
Good app great system but i do find it doesn’t load a lot of the time. Same on other devices too so not my phone. Have to reload often. Very frustrating when you need to get into the app to change schedule/temperature etc.
Great system
I have been using Tado for a good few years now and think it’s a great system it had a great app too but whatever the was it’s slowed down the app somewhat I have to load it a few times to get it on so hopefully they fix this. Otherwise brilliant
Privacy concerns
Too much data collection, more than other apps. It can hardly be said that all of it is absolutely necessary. I paid for the product, I am not the product.
Needs a smart plug
Wish it had a smart plug that would integrate with the system to switch items when boiler is called to heat. IFTTT just not good enough. Otherwise great system. Some comments on here asking for functionality already there.
Brilliant system
Works very well and keeps the house just at a constant temperature. Sehr gut
Overall great
With exception of badly needing a ‘boost’ option from the app, it works well overall. Relatively friendly interface without being confusing.
Quality stats software
The whole set up is quality and the support team are excellent for helping you to get set up
