Simple to install, even simpler to use. Plus house is warmer and heating hardly seems to be on. Can’t praise it enough.

Our thermostats battery dies frequently without any notification This has happened several times and you’d imagine a software update that would send a warning about a ow battery but this has never happened

The last app update has broken the Extension Kit connection which disables the Hot Water heating function. Frequently having days of unheated water as a result. This error has happened before, please fix it urgently in the next update. The system has been working well for a good couple of years until the last update but now one of the primary functions is compromised.

A the system is a rip off, with extra added purchases for no reason. B) every time I load the app. Tado is updating and taking longer than expected. This is getting tiring. But tado don’t care. They’ve got their cash and that’s all that matters to them. Otherwise they’d actually put out a viable product and not have to upgrade hardware at an insane pace. Contacting support does nothing. So unless you want to deal with things in an open forum I’ll send the kit back and you can refund me. We get more functionality out of a 6 year old budget nest thermostat

Tado has a fatal flaw: the use of batteries in its wall mounted controller and radiator thermostats. When I replaced my old wired in Honeywell wall box with the slick white Tado box I had some misgivings about the 3 x AAA batteries it requires. Why not use the power supply that is available in the wall? Sure enough every time those batteries run flat my whole house heating shuts down and we spend hours fault finding and finding replacement batteries. Equally today, when an emergency boost of water heating is required in the middle of our English ‘summer’ (Ha! Ha!), I switch everything on after a few weeks shut down … and nothing. TADO has let us down again. Not great after an £850 investment and 18 months of fine tuning and operations.

Tado is a superb system, fully integrated, that enables me to manage the home environment in situ and remotely. I would thoroughly recommend the system to you

We’re constantly calling on the Tado to heat, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, our best guess is that the bridge can’t communicate with the boiler or receive signal from the TRVs. Whatever you spend on the system, assume you’re going to spend 50% again on a heating engineer. When you look up advice (near the top in the Encyclopedia of advice you’re reading) it says move your Internet bridge away from your router and yet tado supply a 12 inch ethernet cable. Im overwhelmed with information £1,000 spent on the system, £500 on the engineer and now looking at alternatives 🤦‍♂️

I have recently installed a heating system that also provides cooling by pumping cold water through the pipes during summer. A Summer mode (a simple software fix) that would reverse thermostat logic and would allow Tado to support hydronic cooling has been requested for years on the community forum, but these requests have been ignored. Lost hope for it ever coming through so will be looking for an alternative.
