Although set up was easy and straight forward, the functionality of the app could be improved to make for a more efficient user experience. The main area being employee availability. Where someone is only available for a certain number of days, one would need to go in and select their unavailable days to block these out on a continually basis. Rather than a start date and end date, a user should be able to just choose the days unavailable and the app should block these all out infinitely until the user goes in and changes them. The most UNuser friendly part of this which contradicts the whole purpose of relief teaching being flexibility is how difficult it is to make ONE unavailable day that has been blocked out, become available. In my experience I have had to delete the entire unavailability so that I can make a single day available (as a parent of young children flexibility is crucial) and then have to start again on the tedious process of blocking out availability. A friendly suggestion would be to have the availability section look like a calendar where you can click on individual dates to turn availability on and off (red/green status) and then an option to alter long term availability where you just click/highlight days of the week from a list which will then block out all days on the calendar. A visual representation of ongoing availability like a calendar view is much more appealing than a list of dates. Then a separate calendar (not unlike the one already in the app) to show booked shifts.

This app is pathetic, and makes it so difficult for relief teachers to organise their availabilities. Half day relief: First up, and most importantly, why is there no availability to designate yourself as available for half days or specific hours?! This would NOT be difficult. All you would have to do is provide a toggle for part day availability. I used to be a full time teacher and now work in the emergency services. It would be so useful to be able to designate myself as available for PM half-days. In addition to this, many schools find it difficult to book casuals for half days, so providing the option for relief staff would make this far easier. There are also many teachers who work essentially full time on a casual basis. It is NOT fair that this platform does not allow those staff to put their name down for part-days. It essentially means that a casual staff member must write off an entire day if they have an appointment. Secondly, it would be so much easier to be able to choose to default to unavailable and select specific days to work. This would be very useful to myself as my shift roster changes in my primary employment. There are many teachers like this, and it is SO frustrating to have to put down individual blocks of unavailability. For example, if I was available on a wednesday of a given week, I would have to block out monday-tuesday and thursday-friday. Would it not be easier to just default myself as unavailable and select the days that I want to work? This app is seriously difficult to use for relief teachers. I understand that we are not the client, and that school systems are, but you do serve both the staff and the schools and have a responsibility to both.

Amazed at the average star rating on this thing… as a new relief teacher, I’ve found it intuitive to use and neatly laid out. A couple of instances where you’re best using it in concert with the desktop website, but generally a great tool. Keep doing what you’re doing!

It would be good to add a feature like an option to select ‘booked externally’ so that when schools look you up and all they see is ‘red’ unavailability it’s not because you don’t want to work, rather It’s because you are booked through a different app or directly via phone call.

Have been registered for nearly 6months and have had No bookings, no information, can’t contact schools etc Is there another app for Catholic schools?

I find this app to be a great time saver when finding relief staff. It is particularly useful when searching for multiple teachers and multiple dates. A great App!

This is a terrible app! I missed out on a few requests from other schools using other apps as schools who decide to use Tap for Teacher can send you a request, then take their time & pick or choose from all teachers that they invited to fill that one position!!! If they prefer one teacher over another, you accepted the job offered, then get refused. It makes you feel terrible after a school picks someone else over you a few times! I prefer Class Cover or Relief Ruler, they send you an invite and if you choose a job, you just click and get accepted automatically.

I would also love a way to edit my profile! Was done quickly while setting up the so and can’t seem to find a way to update my qualifications etc. tried the help button but have ended up here 🤷‍♀️ fantastic idea! As said above just needs an edit button and an EASY quick way to update availability /being unavailable as this is what will help the ap to be successful for schools to use 😀

This App has been flagged by one of the schools I work for, so have signed up as it is a great idea ⭐️😊 - unlike others, I got in easily & and just set up the basics - my Contact details etc (figures i'd go back & sort my details like my pic., quals etc. when I had more time ⭐️😊- got a text re work this morning but was direct to my Msg Box & not through the App. 💭I then went into the App to add my availability - but the App says it defaults to 'Available' unless you change it - fair enough...so i figured I'd just Tap on the Red 'Unavailable' dot & tap dates - that would be the quickest & easiest way to block out days I can't work (🎉there App Makers, my solution for you); but NO, instead I have to block out individual dates - as I would on my phone but this is a tedious & timely process & twice, the App seemed to over-ride dates already entered & I had to re-do... pls fix glitches! 🚧 💭I then thought I'd upload my photo & Quals & add in the bits I'd missed earlier - cannot find a way to do this as there's no 'Edit' button that I can find & I went to the 'Help' bar which simply redirected me to re-signing up for the App on a continuous Loop.... problematic. Solution: please add an 'Edit' button so we can upload Docs & Profile Pic (can be done as Linked In does this & its really easy to sort 😁) Hope this is helpful. Am now going back to being 'Old Fashioned' & will email my schools with my Availability. 📝Tara
