I have been using TapForms on iPad for over 10 years. I use it for my work. 10 years ago my database was not terribly large. In the past 2 years, I have received a much larger list of clients (20x) and my contact manager became SalesForce. A good program, but it requires you to be tethered to a larger screen and a good internet connection. TapForms allows me to see customer data at my desk or on the road. Here is where TapForms shines: 1) Locally stored information. Really handy within customer sites that have little or no cell (internet) coverage. 2) If you use the synch command, you have the ability to see the data on iPad, Mac and iPhone. 3) Small size files. 4) Simple to use, if you compare it with other DBs such as Access. 5) I voice dictate my sales notes on the road directly into TapForms. Big time saver.
Great support great app
I wish I would have started using this app years ago. It's very powerful and dynamic which could cause usability issues however the support is awesome. I first used this app to inventory equipment at many different locations and had a steep learning curve. The support staff got back to me several times when I needed them. Very pleased!
Tap Forms review
I’ve used Tap Forms for a long time and found it to be useful & reliable and inquiries are always handled very well.
Still The Best
I have been using this since the iPhone 4 days, and it is still the best tool for easy access to structured, and even not-so-structured information. It’s easy to load external data, to send data to other apps, and to search within a table or across all your tables. And the reliable sync between devices makes it feel like something that Apple had developed.
Mostly all fixes, need some updates and features.
Syncing isn’t too great. When this improves it’ll be better.
Nothing really gets added. Only fixes. But overall syncing is a horrible nightmare. A great foundation though.
Horrible documentation
After six months using tap forms I’ve had to give it up. Perhaps Google has something I can crib together but the lack of complete documentation in Tap Forms is too frustrating to deal with. Take something as simple as the command to “Beam Record.” It’s mentioned in a screen on the iPhone as a way to transfer data from an iPhone to a Mac. But I’ve searched all through the Mac app trying to find the command. Then I did a search in the online help for the phrase. It’s not in there! There are so many other problems such as features that are located in a menu on the iPhone but somewhere else on the Mac. Or times that a record is called a form. Unfortunately the developer seems to be a sole person who can’t keep up with all the bugs as well as new features. Bye.
Fantastic Database
I’ve been using Tap Forms for many years on both my phone and my desktop computer. I have 6 different databases, with a few thousand records. The databases range from personal, to business, and others.
Being able to sync data between the desktop computer and the phone is great.
Customer Support is quick and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this app for anyone looking to design their own database.
DOESN'T WORK FOR ME
ENTER 2 DIFFERENT CATEGORIES AND RECORDS DO A SEARCH FINDS WRONG RECORD IN THE WRONG CATEGORY. YOU NEED A MANUAL THAT EXPLAINS THE TERMINOLOGY. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
Better than ever.
Recent updates are this better than ever. We transfer information to other devices and now it works quickly and seamlessly with Airdrop we use it to keep track of our business all the time. We’d be lost without it!
Best app. Flexible
Best app for tracking items, inventory. Previous review from 5 years ago is accurate. I have used for over 5 years. Used on I touch. Bought iPhone to use this app. My database using tapforms allows me to have my personal database with me at all times I have my iPhone
Update 4/2/2024. Still best app. Using same data over 10 years. Best quality app, support, and flexibility
