REVIEWS FROM TEACHERS AND PARENTS
"This game is the absolute best quality phonics game I have come across for educational and fun value."
Marie Lewis, Rochdale

“My class have reaped loads of benefits from using the programme and the difference in some of their reading skills has been dramatic."
Maria Andrews, Foundation Phase Teacher

"This is a fabulous game. I'm not kidding when I say that my daughter essentially learned all her letter sounds using First steps, with relatively minimal input from me! Great for parents to practise their letter sounds too."
Eleanor Jones

these are the best games on

Hello! I had this app when I was little, now I re-downloaded it for my sister who cannot read. But in the account making bit, can you add a setting and when you turn it on there’s a little sign language interpreter? As my sister is deaf and can’t hear the sounds it makes. And a language selector for the sign language? Please add it and make sure it can be American or auslan. Thanks!

This is amazing

It is great a great app

Not very intuitive

Tap the blocks to build the spaceship: I had no idea how to solve that second level. It would be much better to have the audio of the letters on loop. It issues a frustrating long time to try to figure how to progress instead of designing the app for a young child to have greater exposure to phonetics.

I paid money for the app but it didn’t work. So I have decided to sue your dumb company.

I just bought this app for iPad. It does not work. It asks for user name & password, but does not allow to create account. Really disappointed.

This app taught my 3yr daughter to read

At 22 months of age, our daughter knew the alpha bet, by chance I stumbled upon this app and a few others. All education apps have a main pathway, but they also have other distractions which deter children from the original path of the game, like mini games and buying accessories for a virtual home. This app does not have these distractions which allow our toddler daughter to remain on the main path. Our daughter is nearly 3 1/2 and her reading skill is that of a 5 1/2 year old. I give a lot of credit to ‘Teach monster’ mainly due to the lack of distractions! Simple is more ! Thanks guys, and well done.

Buggy on recent devices and i/iPadOS

Frequently does not display words in cookies, instead your just see the blank section where the word should be. Similarly, on stepping stone games, often the letters are replaced by ‘.’ , a full stop or period instead. Frustrating for kids and adults because then it just becomes and random guessing game until you pick the right combinations.
