### *---- "Awkwardly Abrasive/Possible AI chatbots"
Felt very difficult to approach and ask for help. The person seemed like possibly an AI with the rather clearly pre-set responses that lacked care nor thoughtfulness. It very much felt like the person on the chat was hoping to end the chat as quickly as possible, all of which felt pretty concerning, given the work involves setting up individuals struggling with mental health with strangers. It seemed concerns raised were disrespected in the sense that it was clear the chatbot/ maybe human with weak interpersonal skills did not share an understanding as to why someone might have these particular concerns (I.e. request for options for people with experience working with ASD was met with the response: “ASD isn’t a filter we use” which felt like the bot or possible human doesn’t understand why ASD would be relevant to finding a good match). You’d hope there would be some level of training to help make the intake/info gathering process as comfortable as possible.

Some counselors are stellar, incredibly caring and supportive (which is seriously appreciated- a thank you to them), and others are unprofessional/downright harmful. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to take the risk of using this app if they feel they would not be able to mentally handle experiences with the latter (which is completely valid, because users deserve to get support, not disrespect). Furthermore, waiting times are very long, and often there is not help available in time; counselors often make users feel rushed (probably for this reason) and not supported.

Social anxiety makes it hard enough to talk to people and especially to strangers through chat. But I really needed someone to talk to, but when I did, it was like they are rushing to leave. Some just leave half way through the conversation if you don’t type fast enough. I agree with one of the reviews on here in that it’s like they are trying to get rid of you. This should not happen to people trying to reach out for help. I don’t think I want to talk to anyone on here anymore because I don’t want to be treated like this again.

I really like this app, but with the newest update the chat was removed and you can only call now, can you please add it back. It was really helpful to have. I don’t like to phone people, and the chat was the best way to talk to the counsellors

I got connected very fast. Not even 5 minutes I think. The person I talked to was very nice and understanding. They made me feel validated and heard. It was kind of late at night but they were still patient and spent just over an hour with me. At the end they helped me book an appointment with another counsellor for further support. The only downside I found was that I have to wait 2 weeks for that session but other than that I highly recommend this for anyone who needs help. Or just someone to vent too. But of course if you are in crisis it is very beneficial for that as well. I felt very comfortable almost like I was talking to a friend. Thanks for the help!

i had a really hard time finding someone available, and when i did, some councilors were just trying to get rid of me. The other councilors were extremely nice though, i find a lot of potential in this app, it helped me a lot at times when i was able to reach someone.

i’ve tried a handful of times now to connect with a counsellor over the course of a few months and i have still never gotten through to one. every time i am told there are no available counsellors by the chat agents, and sometimes i don’t even get connected to an agent. this app is basically useless if you’re looking for the immediate 24/7 help they claim to give.

I don’t understand why this service is advertised as being available 24/7 when I haven’t even been able to get an appointment to begin with. It’s been a few days since I called in and I haven’t received any type of message—nothing. Do people need to be at-risk to receive support? Can’t I call in just to discuss everyday problems? Isn’t that also encouraged in the advertisements? Pure garbage and I would avoid at all costs, just a waste of time and energy.
