Description

tempi.fi's wireless temperature and humidity sensors record a new reading every minute using best-in-class Swiss made temperature and humidity sensing components, sync directly to your smart phone, fit almost anywhere, and last longer than a year on a single coin cell battery.

They are ideal for monitoring refrigerators, freezers, children’s rooms, animal & pet conditions, wine cellars, greenhouses, senior living conditions, freezing pipes, art collections, cigar humidors, chicken incubation, musical instruments and more…

With this app, you can connect and setup one or more sensors, continuously monitor temperature and humidity, get notifications when the temperature or humidity is out of range, store a virtually unlimited history, and export data in CSV format.

How it works:
• Automatically setup your sensor by holding it over your phone or tablet
• Name your sensor and set your desired conditions (if any)
• When in range, the app will automatically upload the sensor data
• If temperature or humidity is higher or lower than desirable, you get an app notification
• View historical data and create reports anytime

Works great

wish i could change the background color from black to white, maybe in the next update?

Great but needs improvement

My wife and I really like this product but it needs to have Wi-Fi access. We have a commercial refrigerator in the garage and it would be nice to monitor it when we’re not home. Other than that, it’s a great product.

20 min using it and love it!

Just got this brilliant sensor app combo. Will write a more through review later but so far the combo has been perfect! Set up super easy, as it ought to be. App looms great and the sensor adorably good. Well done whoever has designed the combo!

Fantastic

Saved me from a disaster with a freezer.

Excellent hardware and app

Update 03/20/2022: Still rocking. I was however thinking a neat feature might be the ability to receive alerts and monitor temperature on your Apple Watch. Excellent hardware and app. Using it to monitor a 12v refrigerator in my overland rig and it is working perfectly. I’m able to now monitor both temperature and humidity from my phone and set alerts if either rise or fall below a preset. This is a game changer for anyone with a vehicle mounted refrigerator or freezer can prevent food spoilage. Also, developer is very responsive and eager to provide support.

Perfect App

The app and related sensor are elegant in their simplicity and just work great. I’ve been using them over a year with no issues.

Good, but could be more

Adreitz on

I recently moved and had concerns about the condition of the fridge/freezer, the humidity of the basement, and the conditions in the attic (in preparation for an attic encapsulation). I looked at wireless weather stations, but wanted something that could log and graph data when I wasn’t actively watching it. There seemed to fit the bill, so I bought three. I’ve had them for less than 24 hours, but my initial experience has been positive. As others have stated, the pairing process was simple and the Bluetooth range seems pretty great. The sensor in the freezer is hardest to read, obviously, but I still get connectivity through most of the house. And having over 20 days of onboard data logging provides peace of mind that I won’t miss anything. That said, the actual app function is a bit too simple for my tastes and I think a lot more could and should be done. First, you are limited to two presentations of the data, one a list of the current conditions of your connected sensors and the other a graph of a single sensor. But the list wastes a lot of space so you can only see two sensors on screen without scrolling. And it would be good to be able to graph multiple selected sensors at once. But, further, I’d like to see more advanced data analysis. Right now you can name the sensors and default names are broken up into categories (e.g. instrument case, refrigerator, room, etc.) The categories only appear to provide guidance on choosing alert thresholds, though. But wouldn’t it be good for the freezer category to show you data about how often the defrost cycle occurs and what temperature it reaches? And maybe it could warn you if there is a positive temperature trend over time indicating an impending failure, even before you reach a temperature threshold. Or, for an attic (which is currently missing a default category), the app could compare the measured conditions with the local weather and, maybe, a sensor in an upstairs room to show you what kind of energy transfer is happening between the outdoors, your attic, and your house and the benefit you could expect from adding insulation or air sealing. I think this kind of software analytics could greatly enhance the value over a simple reading of the sensor output.

No alerts

Salixx7543 on

I bought this to alert me if my greenhouse dropped below a certain temperature which indicates an issue with the pellet stove that heats it. Set up was easy, got one alert for temperature and humidity then had to adjust the trigger temp and humidity. Several hours later, I check the app out of curiosity. The pellet stove is out. The greenhouse is 10 degrees below trigger temp according to the app itself. Absolutely no notification or alert was triggered. Tried uninstalling app and removing and re-adding the sensor. Still no alerts. It’s still 10 degrees below temp. Absolutely useless for anything other than data collection. It does that so I gave it two stars.

Outstanding app, amazing hardware

Eli Protiva on

Ya this is one of those tools you just need in your life. The magic is in the seamless app and hardware that just work. No pairing, pin codes or hard resets, just open the app and its working. Ive never had a bluetooth device work to easy. The data logging is so easy you makes it fun. Gone are the days of usb cards and hard to install software. Maybe the coolest part is that its so easy to use you will use it just to learn. I put it under the hood of my car, turns out its the hottest about 30 after i park the car and peaks at 132f. Is my fridge making food go bad? easy to check. Am i having nightmares due to temperature swings throughout the night? done. And its just an awesome indoor/outdoor thermometer, why get up and walk to the wall the check the temp outside when you could have it on your phone instantly? Ya its 2020 and this is the best bluetooth Iot thermometer money can buy right now.

Perfection

seanthony13 on

Oh if only every app, especially for bluetooth devices, were this intuitive. As someone who works in User Interface and User Experience design, I can truly appreciate whoever designed this app. It’s everything you need and nothing you don’t, laid out in a simple and easy to use format. You can even export temperature data, if needed. We have ours in the fridge in our teardrop camper, and can monitor and receive real-time alerts on our phone in the front of the car. Excellent product/app combo. Thank you!
