Description

Edit and typeset LaTeX, Plain TeX and Markdown on your iPad or iPhone, no internet connection required, using Texifier, formerly known as Texpad.

Texifier is a LaTeX editor designed for straightforward navigation, editing and typesetting of projects of any size. Open a LaTeX root file, and Texifier will scan it, open any referenced files, extract the document structure for display in the outline view, and configure the typesetter according to the packages and tools used by your document.

Texifier's editor comes with a choice of themes, syntax highlighting, autocomplete of commands, including those defined in your document, and autofill for \cite commands, \ref commands and others. The powerful sidebar can show you a summary of your document structure allowing you to navigate through large multi-file projects with ease. Additionally Texifier's outline lists all labels, figures, tables, todos and it contains a powerful search function that can search and replace across your entire project using either normal text searches or regular expression searches.

TexpadTeX - Texifier's internal, no internet connection required, typesetter comes with PGF drivers, Native Fonts extensions, a Unicode and more, allow it to support almost any LaTeX package available. TexpadTeX also integrates a BibteX tool and a Makeindex compatible indexer for documents that require those tools. The integrated bundle manager takes care of downloading, installing and updating LaTeX packages for you, giving you access to almost the entire LaTeX ecosystem without using any more space on your device than needed.

TexpadTeX can run in Live mode, updating the output as you type, so you never need wait for a typeset to finish again.

For the rare cases of documents that are not compatible with TexpadTeX, you can use our free cloud typesetters. This is fully integrated into Texifier so press typeset, and Texifier will run the typeset in the Cloud, presenting the results just as if they were typeset on your device.

After all typesets, any errors in your document are organised in a table of issues. Tap on an issue to jump directly to the offending line of LaTeX source, or the line in the original log if you wish to read the original output.

Texifier works well with Files App, allowing you to store and work on your documents wherever you wish. On top of that Texifier Connect is directly integrated into Texifier for working across devices and collaborators.

Texifier supports Markdown along with LaTeX. Edit your document in Texifier's syntax highlighting editor, browse the document by outline, then when you press Typeset, the document will be transparently converted and typeset by LaTeX (using a standard template), giving you the informal ease of Markdown with LaTeX's ability to create beautiful and high quality PDFs. Likewise Plain TeX users can edit and typeset their documents in Texifier.

Unable to typeset

Bythenessy on

Typesetting doesn’t seem to work, at least for me in the US on an iPad Pro. I get an error that “The network connection was lost”. This is a shame, because it otherwise looks like an excellent app with lots of thoughtful features. It just isn’t all that useful to me if it’s not possible to typeset. I hope this gets fixed soon.

CTEX XeLaTeX

NineFox Purple on

中文格式经常需要用到CTEX包和XeLaTeX格式。但离线编译不支持,只能在线编译。iPad使用不方便。希望作者能不能加入一下bundle。

absolute awful

LTC49 on

This is not in any way, manner, shape or form the least bit intuitive to use. Suppose you are working on document A. You now want to switch to document B. I have yet to figure out how you get back to the document listings or icons so you can select document B. Online help is worthless. If there was another LaTeX editor for IOS I would dump this app in a heartbeat.

Undo + autocomplete Broken

Marc0384 on

When Texifier suggests a latex completion while typing, at times a later undo will fail to undo the phantom suggestions, and in fact weirder behaviour than this can occur, eating entire swathes of text (at least on iOS 16.1.1). I just lost an entire document this way.

Not happy with curt reply from support

Dah Tua, Sewel Pulak on

Basically, no email support unless it has to do with payment or technical issues. Even then, it’s their call. For everything else, read the FAQ. Hey man, we’re paying a price that you set. What you’re saying is sorry, we’re a small team with insufficient resources. Well, excuse me for giving you MY money for a product YOU can’t support because you’re short-handed. How you run business is your problem. If you can’t deliver, then don’t sell. Also, I’m not going to pay twice after the tone of your response to a simple licensing query. The only reason for Texifier is to use it on my iPad on the road. The app itself hangs at times, the editor has minor deficiencies, but I can put up with it because it works most of the time. I don’t holler for support unless I’m really pressed for time and I can’t easily find the problem in documentation. But to have a “go read the docs first” thrown in my face has consequences: you won’t get anymore money from me.

Double payment for iPAD and MacBook

You want us to pay twice for an iPad and for MacBook … Not fair …

No Dropbox Support after Updates

spirityao on

It is really not helping to disable Dropbox after I have purchased it. Blaming Dropbox instead of putting the effort? Not happy with it.

It is a joke

rev543 on

Tried to use texpad for writing a moderately complex document. So many packages are missing and no useful recommendations given. Gave up after two hours of fighting texpad. Waste of time and money.

Waste of money

Vahid1339 on

This app does not connect to Dropbox and it is a torture to open a file from your iPad and make a pdf file out of it. It always makes a long log file of errors, missing fonts, missing files, etc and then suggests you to download the bundle ( of a thousand files) which fails to download. So do not waste your money and write latex your files on your Mac.

Poor customer service, Texpad iPad app keeps crashing all the time.

Samurai-691 on

The mac version of Texpad is stylistically very pleasing. For this reason, I bought the iPad version of the app because I figured I could sync my tex files on my iPad and mac using their Texpad connect. However, the iPad version of Texpad has been crashing every single time I have used it, starting a week after I bought it. I have not yet been able to figure out why it keeps crashing. I have had close to zero support from the Texpad team to help me figure out why. For some reason, the crashes do not always generate error reports. However, I have sent them all the details of my problem; I even sent them a screen recording. The complete lack of tech support from their end has been very frustrating and downright appalling, especially given this is a paid app ! The end result is that I have had to delete all my Texpad projects on their Texpad connect. (I suspect having my files on Texpad connect is the reason the app was crashing because since last week, the Texpad app also started crashing on my MacBook).
