I purchased a subscription thru the App store and the app is so buggy. Even though I pay monthly the app often tells me that I don't have a subscription. I try saving a story I am told to sign in and then it tells me I don't have a subscription. Reloading the app and contacting the publisher is of no help. Why can't the app connect into your system?
This app performance is abysmal. However ads load in completely jams up the performance and freezes up/ crashes the app. I read The Atlantic Daily so it’s super disappointing to have my reading interrupted by having to relaunch the app on nearly every other article I read. I feel like it uses more RAM on loading ads than loading articles.
The most recent version seems to have introduced a new bug. I have noticed that the screen will go blank upon reaching a certain point in an article. The spot where it goes blank will vary from article to article but it’s always the same for a given article. Some articles, on the other hand, give no problem. I don’t know if it’s because of an approaching ad or something else. Sometimes it’s so bad that the only fix is to abandon the app and read the article via a web browser. I have also seen it on the iPad version.
Pretty good app but every time I use it I have to log in. Other magazine apps (eg The Economist) don’t do this. Also,why doesn’t it keep my place where I have been reading?
In the past couple of days, the articles in the app have been shrinking to just a couple of paragraphs, leaving the content hanging. I’m paying for a full annual subscription through Apple, really enjoy the magazine but this is a brand new phenomenon and seems to be pervasive, so I’m wondering if there’s a glitch in the uploads.
I have had to delete and reinstall this App so many times! The App logs me out, then when I sign in it does not recognize my subscription. The only solution seems to be to completely delete and then reinstall the app, then sign in. The helpful Atlantic people suggested the solution. If you are aware of the problem please fix it!! My subscription is paid up and is up to date. This is extremely frustrating and happens often. Please fix the problem.
While signed into the app on iPhone, it will sometimes open articles in a new window that has banner ads for installing the app, and also asks you to sign in to continue reading… while you’re a paying customer using their app.
Please add audio to all articles. Also, implement something to let us quickly know what has been read/listen… Just copy The Economist fonctionalities.
The app looks nice, and the content is excellent. However, reading long articles is challenging, because the app won’t remember where I am if I don’t finish reading an article in one sitting. It’s like reading the paper magazine, but with someone who closes the magazine and takes out your bookmark every time you put the issue down. Why can’t the app just resume in the state that it was in before switching? (It does behave like this if the switch is brief, but will revert to the home page or a blank screen with longer breaks.)
It would be great to have an iPhone/iPad widget, showing the latest stories.
