The app only allows you to read the featured articles. If you wanna read the monthly magazine articles (for which I pay), it freezes. Not worth it
It's a shame the such a good magazine has such a bad app. It crashes frequently, you can't convert the pages images to plain text for easier reading. When are you going to do something serious about it?
Es una pena que una publicación con la calidad de The Atlantic sea ilegible en esta versión a causa de constantes errores en la aplicación. Cada vez que quiero leer un ejemplar, parece que la aplicación se conecta a un servidor y durante unos 20 segundos no puedo avanzar en la revista. Luego, si apago el iPad y más tarde quiero volver a leer, la aplicación se cierra. Vuelvo a abrir el ejemplar, pero si cambio a otra aplicación, nuevamente hay que empezar desde cero. Más aún: ¿por qué no se puede descargar un ejemplar en segundo plano? ¿De verdad no se puede lograr que pueda usar mi iPad mientras bajan los 300 Mb de un ejemplar?
I’ve loved The Atlantic app for so long. You removed saved articles from the navigation and added extra steps to save and view them. Why the added steps? This is a step in the wrong direction. Please go back to how it was. Frustrations like this lead people to consider unsubscribing.
I have to delete and re-install the app at least once every few months in order to access content. It shouldn’t be this hard to get the app to work correctly.
The Atlantic itself is great but every other day the app had me sign up again which did not work. Deleting and reinstalling did but after ten or so times of this hassle I gave up and canceled. Too bad!
Latest update made it more difficult to save and view saved articles. I don’t need or want audio content; I subscribed to a print journal because I want to read the pieces not listen to them. So prioritizing that at the bottom of the screen instead of the saved articles feature is useless, and makes it more likely that I will read less, or just unsubscribe.
The app has logged me out and will not log me back in. I've canceled it now.
They truly do not allow you to cancel your subscription. The number simply hangs up “no agents are available, call back later.” They don’t respond to your numerous emails to their account help account. There’s no way to simply cancel in the app. Prepare to spend an increasingly sizeable sum every year with no escape, even if their content takes an unappealing turn that leaves you wanting out.
