This tool will help you: UNDERSTAND CHORDS - Know the 'when, why and how' different chords work together. IMPROVISE & SOLO - Talk about chops! Comprehend key structure like never before. TRANSPOSE KEYS - Instantly transpose any progression to any key. COMPOSE MUSIC - Watch your songwriting blossom! No music reading is necessary. "I have given this information in lectures for years, but it's great to just tell people to go to your website and buy this thing. It's an amazing way to understand tonality and harmony." - Bonnie Hayes, Songwriter “Have a Heart” and “Love Letter” from Bonnie Raitts’ multi-platinum, multi-Grammy ‘Nick of Time’ "This is the kind of device that players of any instrument can use to enhance their musical understanding. Chord and key relationships are inseparable, and learning these relationships is a must in becoming a successful musician." - Alan Remington, Orange Coast College Music Dept. The word of mouth from the first 100,000 customers as well as recommendations for countless teachers worldwide has made The Chord Wheel the most successful device of its kind. Countless testimonials from users (see Amazon.com for numerous examples) assure you that this will help you in your quest to become a better musician. This product is intended for beginners and intermediate students; if you can rattle off the chords of a ii-V7-I progression in the Key of Bb and know whether a C7 sound good in this key without thinking about it, you may not need it. For the rest of us, here is the answer. Though it's still primarily intended for musicians, the iPhone App version allows users to depress the wheel's cells and hear the chords played back in the instrument and chord voicing selected in the 'Settings' page. The result is an entertaining song composer that allows you to play chord progressions without any musical knowledge whatsoever. For musicians, it allows your ears to hear the relationships between chords and key. ## The Chord Wheel Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple49/v4/cd/7c/30/cd7c30a0-ea79-f81f-4463-a0cc7a58171f/mzl.uxwnbkmw.png/960x640.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple69/v4/f7/cf/b8/f7cfb86c-5295-1230-3c0e-39ceeda5beb2/mzl.osnpjwsm.png/960x640.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple69/v4/05/3f/88/053f883f-7bd7-6f47-ac5a-52cd083b92c9/mzl.dzzeshfx.png/960x640.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple49/v4/eb/63/4a/eb634a81-9854-6605-9417-ebad8b6ac307/mzl.jycfvujv.png/960x640.png) ## The Chord Wheel Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 9 (60%) - 4 stars: 3 (20%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 3 (20%) ## The Chord Wheel Reviews in United States ### *---- "Can’t believe Apple hasn’t removed. Waste!" thought I’d buy the app instead of replacing the paperback. Don’t make same mistake. App is 4 years old and the pics aren’t even from the actual app. Waste of 6 bucks. -- Mikerhhtj, 2021-12-15 ### ****- "Nice but a few bum guitar chords" The wheel is a helpful layout for writing simple major/minor progressions. Piano sounds are bold and in tune, and sustain for two good legato whole notes while you consider the next chord. However, some of the guitar chords are well out of tune, and one or two of the diminished 7ths are downright wrong on guitar. But the majority are OK. I stick with the piano. This would be excellent tool if there was a simple way to toggle any chord to and from its 7th, 6th, sus4, or 2nd/9th — or maybe add the note on the keyboard (which in inactive and purely decorative). But overall the wheel is a nice idea for establishing harmonic context. -- bjones5443, 2021-05-20 ### *---- "Could be a lot better." The app needs a lot more development to be worth the money. You can't adjust basic things like the screen orientation that s permanently stuck on portrait mode. Also would be nice to be able to change instruments instead of only having piano and guitar. If you're looking for something more useful for reference, writing and practicing I'd say but the Tonaly app. -- Ñero_10, 2020-09-07 ### ***** "Great chord wheel" I love this and it’s helped me write creative chord progressions. Recommended for all musicians and songwriters. Would be nice if you could add the modes like that dial a note circle of fifths turn thingy on amazon. -- I am John Macaws, 2019-03-31 ### ***** "Great app" Neat training aid that helps me transpose songs on the go. Handy to have as an app. Save me tremendous time transposing songs for band. -- Stratfan11, 2018-07-20 ### ***** "Great app" I'm so excited to see this app! For years I thought it should be easy to make an intuitive chord wheel app but couldn't find one that was easy to use and display all of the info I was looking for. The only thing it's missing is the note numbers in the scale. A lot of chord wheels online show a small Roman numeral to represent the chord number under the letter. That addition would make this a 5 star app. Edit: Go through the tutorial. You can zoom into the key signature -- Ruiz4577, 2017-12-09 ### ****- "Please Enable Rotate to Portrait Mode" I bought the book and will find the app useful as well. I’m happy that the issue with the sound has been fixed but would like to be able to use the app in portrait mode. Landscape feels clunky and using the app in portrait wouldn’t mean the wheel is obstructed in any way. It’s just a circle. But the device you’re using would be more comfortable in hand. -- Hopewellcoffin, 2017-10-17 ### ***-- "Great reference tool. Sound is touchy" The chord wheel concept is an invaluable reference for composing. The app currently does everything the paper version will do for half the cost. Unfortunately, the extra sound function, which would be really cool, only works if you just barely touch the screen. I mean like barely touch it, almost so that you don't feel the screen. If you tap as you would the keyboard on your phone it will never play. This makes it impractical to use so it may just as well not work as other users have said. It would be an awesome feature to be able to find the key and chords for a song idea just by tapping your phone. Like have a piano or acoustic guitar in your pocket. Please fix the sound guys, if the sound worked right, i'd pay double. -- davidmccully, 2016-10-03 ### **--- "No Sound - but still useful for transposition" I loved this app when I first got it. But now The sound does not work on my iPhone 6, and it appears the app and the website are no longer being updated. But the wheel still turns, so it's still useful for transposition and, to a lesser extent composing. You just can't use it to listen to chord combinations. It's kind of like the app has been reduced to an iBook. -- JSLsurf, 2016-07-07 [View all The Chord Wheel reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## The Chord Wheel Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Paid | Australia | Music | #46 | | Top Paid | Switzerland | Music | #48 | | Top Paid | Mexico | Music | #49 | | Top Paid | Nigeria | Music | #102 | | Top Paid | Egypt | Music | #106 | | Top Paid | Lebanon | Music | #115 | | Top Paid | South Africa | Music | #117 | | Top Paid | Greece | Music | #150 | | Top Paid | Belgium | Music | #157 | | Top Paid | Peru | Music | #164 | | Top Paid | Ireland | Music | #166 | | Top Paid | Norway | Music | #168 | | Top Paid | Singapore | Music | #172 | | Top Paid | Romania | Music | #178 | | Top Paid | New Zealand | Music | #179 | | Top Paid | India | Music | #180 | | Top Paid | Vietnam | Music | #189 | | Top Paid | Hungary | Music | #196 | | Top Paid | United Arab Emirates | Music | #196 | | Top Paid | Ecuador | Music | #199 | | Top Paid | Philippines | Music | #206 | | Top Paid | Denmark | Music | #207 | | Top Paid | Portugal | Music | #210 | | Top Paid | Malaysia | Music | #212 | | Top Paid | Indonesia | Music | #218 | | Top Paid | Hong Kong SAR China | Music | #220 | | Top Paid | Thailand | Music | #221 | | Top Paid | Netherlands | Music | #228 | | Top Paid | Türkiye | Music | #239 | | Top Paid | Finland | Music | #244 | | Top Paid | Dominican Republic | Music | #244 | | Top Paid | Sweden | Music | #246 | ## Apps Similar to The Chord Wheel -
