Will you bring liberty to France, or plunge Europe into bloody war? "The Eagle's Heir" is a 200,000 word interactive novel by Amy Griswold and Jo Graham. It's entirely text-based, without graphics, or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. Since Napoleon won the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, seventeen years ago, Europe has enjoyed an uneasy peace. While the great empires of Austria, Russia and England have tried to stem the tide of revolution, France has mastered steam power to conquer the air and sea. Now, Napoleon’s health is failing, and France is torn between his legitimate heir, Franz, and his illegitimate son Alexandre. Luckily, Alexandre has you, his loyal bodyguard and childhood companion, skilled in the arts of the duel and the ballroom, and ready for anything from diplomacy to airship combat! It's brother against brother as you choose who will rule France, and how. Will France have a king, an emperor, or become a republic? Can you guide your lifelong friend Alexandre to the throne, and keep not just your prince but his revolutionary ideals alive? Or will you throw your weight behind his half-brother Franz? Will you defeat France’s enemies with the thunder of airship guns or forge a marriage alliance in gaslit ballrooms? • Play as male, female, genderfluid, or non-binary; gay, straight, or asexual • Race airships across the English Channel • Find romance with a journalist or a lady's maid, or ménage a trois at the Tuileries Palace • Join a motley crew of actors in the revolutionary cause, or spy on them for your allies • Duel aristocrats to preserve your and Alexandre's honor • Plan a scandalous elopement which sends Europe into an uproar When swords cross before the throne, who will be the Eagle's Heir? ## The Eagle's Heir Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/8c/44/d3/8c44d3a2-0536-7810-57f3-5df1a1449f79/d07a7075-96f1-4728-bed6-ca253c62e1da_65splash.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/6f/7c/8a/6f7c8ab5-ac29-c417-fc7e-d4db7661b37e/74928634-8823-4e5f-8166-6b2edc0253ec_11promax-1.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/60/15/fb/6015fb70-d4ce-9b53-7c8d-567f17223f8f/edbada34-dc0a-4f43-be5f-d65daaee140c_11promax-2.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/bd/a9/ed/bda9ed86-9138-b252-97df-069b6311e1db/e3205a99-c175-4e00-b79d-c17c9529f39e_11promax-3.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/8d/40/35/8d403536-644d-5312-90f1-da69145509d6/d6a987ea-b7d9-4293-a6e6-e916ac367c2e_11promax-4.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/56/09/1b/56091b18-8679-40f1-f1bb-bc647790a651/fc221bfe-5905-462a-bb0e-607d05f32a23_11promax-5.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/d1/e3/70/d1e370bf-f7a3-cfba-7ab5-98bdfa6bc26c/02896e6f-083b-4eac-846e-df3cdec54d1b_11promax-6.png/1242x2688.png) ## The Eagle's Heir Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 39 (76%) - 4 stars: 3 (6%) - 3 stars: 4 (8%) - 2 stars: 3 (6%) - 1 stars: 2 (4%) ## The Eagle's Heir Reviews in United States ### ***** "I'm Not A History Buff, But I Adore This Game" I knew next to nothing about the steampunk genre before and I know nothing about the 1800s. All of my knowledge of Napoleon comes from high school classes over a decade ago and if I had to take a quiz on it again, I'd probably fail. And yet, I still thoroughly enjoyed this game. Very well done. -- Minecraftaddict307, 2024-05-05 ### ***-- "It’s fine" I’ve played a lot of choose your own adventure styled games. And this is fun but very short and has limited replay. It’s fine though I enjoyed it. -- Ayerox, 2018-08-18 ### **--- "Okay-ish" Pros: Strong writing and world-building. Cons: Felt like I was constantly reaffirming my character's gender and sexuality and then not getting appropriate choices regardless. Felt like I wasn't able to improve my stats effectively to face obstacles. Game ended abruptly and unsatisfactorily as a result of "choose the right option" at the end. (Didn't realize it was a skill check, so obviously chose the wrong one) -- Dude,the45678, 2018-06-11 ### ***** "Superb Alternate Historical Romance!" I LOVE this game! As someone who has visited the places in the game and studied the history of the time period, it was a real treat to run around in this exciting alternate historical romance novella. I had so much fun! I didn’t know how things would turn out, and I still don’t exactly know how everything will turn out—so I will definitely be playing over and over again. -- faelynne, 2017-12-06 ### ***** "Awesome Alt-History Game" Loved the story and characters, a fun dip into historical fiction with a well-written premise. -- A Pleasant Day in the Woods, 2017-12-03 ### *---- "Meh" I really grow tired of telling the game that I'm a straight male and then having all of the romance options be gay male stuff. There wasn't a single real female romance option but I got many opportunities to feel fluttery around dudes and to try to seduce them. -- Kevin claunch, 2017-08-21 ### ***** "The tricycle" Any game that allows me to have a bisexual threesome is a win in my book. 10/10 -- JavaGirl98, 2017-07-28 ### ***** "<3" My favorite by leaps and bounds -- BreezLouise, 2017-04-23 ### ***-- "It's OK" It was well written however not many meaningful choices. I really wanted to like this but no matter how hard I tried it just fell short of my expectations. The story was OK but could've been better. -- Mr.jcury, 2017-04-08 ### ***** "Great fun!" I'm a big fan of choice of games but have fallen behind in my playing lately. This game reminded me why I love this type of game so much. A rip roaring adventure for sure! Even if you aren't a history buff there is plenty of fun to be had in this what if/alternative take on history. Air ship and spy games and romance and politics galore! I look forward to replaying because there seems to be quite a few endings one can get. -- Tonks07, 2017-04-07 [View all The Eagle's Heir reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## The Eagle's Heir Discovered Keywords -
