The application initiated with a flash, which is very irritating. I want to use dark mode, but for certain articles the application doesn’t respect my choice. And finally, there’s a huge lag when using the arrows to return to the home page.

I’ve been a subscriber since University, love the writing and insight. Sadly, the App is slow and clunky. It takes too long to load which means I don’t read or listen as much as I did. It didn’t used to be like this but recent updates have ruined it. The support is shabby and overly complicated. Real shame.

Brilliant, informed insights every week / day

The margins are too wide. Hold press on a word no longer allows lookup of definition. Loads of unread articles are now marked as read. Really poor. Flashing ads are distracting, I pay for a subscription, I shouldn’t have to read ads. Can’t download articles with images for offline, only audio. This has always been an issue.They should also allow a way to sync data optionally, even just via iCloud.

This app was previously very smooth and pleasant to read the weekly editions. Now the latest version has an ad display when you scroll between each article that makes the reading experience laggy and annoying. Disappointing, as a long time subscriber.

Great news and app is good. But it now consumes 14GB of my iPhone. I’ve removed all back issue audio but no luck. Do I have to delete and reinstall the app 😩 Found the bug in your software, if editions are not 100% downloaded then you cannot remove vi the three dots, it doesn’t show as anything is downloaded. So you have to tap into every issue and delete the audio manually. Just Weber through 50+ back issues and deleted, many at 99% downloaded. Can you please fix this bug and get better WA engineers.

Always worked great until April 2023 and the app is totally unresponsive, even just opening it takes 1min to load, then up to 3 mins to open most recent issue. No idea what’s up!

I read the Economist off line mostly and I have just downloaded 5 issues using the legacy app in the time it took to download 4% of one issue. Very thankful I kept the legacy app.

Since I rather tardily moved to the new app for the Economist, I have been pleasantly surprised by the daily up to date news. Short and long reads have been a boon each day. This new approach is really good. Thanks. Sam Hamill. Dublin.

Worth every penny. Great news and analysis of what’s happening around the world at your fingertips and the app itself is top notch. This is a service you won’t be dissatisfied with!
