Very slow

The slowest app on my phone, which is insane for a news app.

Buggy, slow with good content.

Content great but app itself doesnt work properly

News items take way too long to load uses a lot of space for relatively simple app, app freezes and shuts regularly. Is there any solution to this?

Good journalism, bad app.

after 8 years of using the app, it still does not remember where you left off reading when switching between apps. Navigating through the app is atrocious. The quality of the app is nowhere near the quality of the journalism. C’mon The Economist, I expect a lot better from you!

App loads terribly slow

This is the only app I know that is very slow and often the daily feed is not renewed until I completely close the app. Better to use Economist Espresso. Disappointing performance, also when you want to scroll through the articles. Please impove. The last update of the app introduces a new bug. Now the app is suddenly terminated while reading an article! Downgrade to one star!

App freezes a lot

The Economist app has deteriorated enormously over the past few months: it freezes for 10 seconds or so, almost every time when scrolling or swiping to the next story. iPhone 14. Same story for iPhone 11 of a friend of mine. This means that it’s better to read online, on the website using Safari on iOS. Why have an app then?! What causes this? I’m baffled that the quality of service has gone down for such a once mighty periodical. Physical delivery in the Netherlands is now on … Wednesday after (really). This was the answer from my email enquirer. But but but, why would anyone in NL still want a subscription then? So, that’s of my mind. I hope someone serious can address these issues. You can write great articles but good delivery is a prerequisite.

App needs renovation!

Team, the Economist app is extremely slow and laggy. It also crashes. Could you please look into this? I am sure that I am not the only one experiencing this. This will have an impact on your readership.

Content deserves better app

App is sluggish, often does not respond to pressing links to open pages, and swiping to scroll. On top of that it regularly crashes. Only this app, all my other apps work fine. It has become so bad that I will likely not renew my (digital) subscription after 30 years of reading the Economist.

Bad app

Great magazine, incredibly bad app. Slow and buggy. The Economist should really put in more effort to have an app that matches the quality of its journalistic content.
