Kid Cosmo needs your help! Blast through an '80s-inspired puzzle adventure game-within-a-game alongside boy wonder Chris and his big sister Michelle.

Wichita, Kansas — 1985: Go on a journey through the eyes of Chris, an intellectually gifted child, and his older sister Michelle as they navigate coming of age in the retro-futuristic world of "The Electric State." This narrative-driven game takes place before the events of the movie and spans five years, blending gameplay with emotional storytelling to create an immersive experience.

ALWAYS REMEMBER, KID COSMO'S YOUR PAL!

Experience "Kid Cosmo: Martian Marooner," a fully realized retro game on Chris's handheld console, the PX-1. Inspired by classic 1980s games, this top-down puzzle adventure features grid-based movement and creative problem-solving. Guide Kid Cosmo through each dungeon, using boosters like the Zoomerang and Jet Pack to overcome challenges and defeat robots.

BECOME PART OF THE STORY

Transition seamlessly between solving puzzles on the PX-1 and witnessing key moments in Chris and Michelle's lives. A reactive dialogue system pairs the characters' commentary with your gameplay in real time, drawing you into their sibling relationship.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR CONSOLE

Use your phone’s tilt and touch functions to interact with the PX-1 in different ways throughout the story. You might need to wipe dust from the screen, muffle the speaker to avoid detection, choose where to place a sticker or rush to a save point before the battery dies.

I love that we got a backstory for Chris and Michelle through this game, and all the little details like the lighting on the PX-1 and covering the speaker to silence the audio were so cool. I also enjoyed the soundtrack a LOT (I absolutely love music). I’m so glad that a game was actually made for The Electric State. The movie deserves more appreciation than it gets in my opinion.

This has to be my all time favorite game! I’ve played it three times to the end! And my favorite character is teen Chris by far because of his journey with his sister and when he is in collage and the voice actors who did this were so amazing truly incredible! But the Intricate details that were put into this game like how u can turn on the PX-1 and the lights that reflect off the PX-1! The ending though actually made me cry it so sad,but I highly recommend this game it is so so SO amazing!

Movie tie-in games don’t have a great history. That said, Netflix seems to know what they’re doing. The original Stranger Things game brought great nostalgia and got me ready for the next season of the show. This game is even better. As a prequel to the movie, this games has great storytelling wrapped inside a fun, though short and easy, puzzle game. They are able to hit the nostalgia that Stranger Things did so well as well as creating a story that melds perfectly with the movie. Though the movie wasn’t perfect, this game helped me see it in a new light. I enjoyed both!

The only reason I docked this a star was because it was a little on the simple side. I’d give it a 4.8 if I could, just can’t get it to the 5-star rating.

It’s based off my favorite movie and book. Right off the bat that’s awesome. I love how the PX1  is so detailed and that you can turn on and off it  and add stickers and even put in the game cartridge for it.(So Cool!) Also I love the backstory of how Chris goes to college. Best game ever.
