## The Encounter Reviews in United States

### ****- "Very good, never becomes mechanical."
I love how each day has separate devotions and prayers, it makes it feel alive. And being able to hear the gospel and epistle for each day is wonderful. Along with this, the app offers spoken prayers, like evening, morning, and even midday prayers that have people read them. One small issue I have with the app is the classical music that plays no matter what, It becomes very annoying if I want to pray, as to my knowledge there is no way to disable to music. Other than this, the app offers great selections of prayers, for every occasion during the day to day life. It does feel very personal, and though I haven’t used the feature yet, you are able to send prayer requests to the people who develop the app.

### ***** "Love this app, just one small thing I wish we had."
I love this app. Beautiful prayers and a lot of good orthodox references/resources. The only thing I wish is if we could change the notification times because it reminds me at times when I’m unable to stop and pray.
-- SS19922015, 2025-06-02

### ***-- "Pros and Cons"
Love the idea of a daily series of prayers which is easy to follow in a sequential manner. Do not like the changed wording of many prayers. Hate the music and find it difficult to turn it off. Make. your settings clearer. Not sure why we need to add our parish name and city. Why can't we remain anonymous? On the whole - it's "just okay."

### *---- "One Star Only For Dropping Support of Older Phones"
I loved this program, but now I only get a notification to upgrade to the latest version - which requires iOS 16 or greater. My phone can only do 15.8, so can no longer access this. So, 1-star for leaving me and others behind..

To the user that doesn’t like the music - assuming no changes; click the profile button. You will see a pause button to the right of your name; this silences the music..

### ***** "This is what the world needs"
I have pointed many young adults toward this app as a way to stay connected and they use as much or as little of it as they need. It works very reliably and helps even the youngest users develop a habit of prayer

To the reviewer that said he deleted the app because there was no way to turn the music off - of course there is, you just didn’t look hard enough 🙂

### ***-- "Not as inclusive as I wished."
I was really disappointed there isn’t an Old Calendar option so I could use the app more diligently.
-- Not for all OX, 2023-11-20

### ****- "Good but imperfect app"
This is a very fine app in general, however, there are a few bugs and inconsistencies that are annoying. One reason I am writing this review is because the feedback button does not work, at least not more than once. I gave positive feedback when I first downloaded and used the app. Since then, it doesn't work. If I were to be contacted, I would gladly give additional details rather than bleating on here because I do truly like and use this app.
-- stonepileb, 2023-09-15

### *---- "Sappy Music"
I was excited when I first opened the app, but the sentimental music was so sappy. I had to shut it down. Give there was no why to turn it off, I deleted the app. Unfortunate.
-- Iconic lie, 2023-07-10

### ***** "AMAZING"
This app is an absolute godsend! I find myself engaging in prayer so much more often because of it. The voices are natural, and it is easy to use. Make sure you download it and use it!
-- jchristian192, 2022-02-04

### ***** "Excellent prayer app"
This app is an excellent source of prayers for the Eastern Orthodox Church. The app is thorough, responsive, and bug-free. I highly recommend giving it a try.
