Dreadful app
I subscribed and every time I try to log in I have to restore the subscription ! Doesn’t always work

Not sure….
Being hassled to review something immediately after starting it is not conducive to a positive review. I finally gave up and decided to give a review on the 5th request in 5 minutes. I signed up to the Independent after adverts made even the free articles impossible to read. Now I’m being hassled to give reviews. Unless things improve I will be cancelling and ignoring all Independent content. What I have successfully read has only been of moderate quality, so at the moment it’s not looking worth the hassle.
No advance notice of subscription renewal
It’s disappointing that “The Independent”, still uses a decade old scam of enticing you with an introductory offer and then fails to give advance notice of prior to the subscription being renewed. I am sure that the offer said that advance notice would be given before any funds would be taken from my account. The deduction has come at a bad time. Had there been an advance notice, then i would have renewed my subscription 3 weeks later. It’s a shame as I enjoyed the format and news content
So hard to comment
Posting comments on stories is a great feature, but so difficult to use that it’s virtually useless. You have to sign out, then sign back in again, every time you comment - by which time your comment disappears and you have to re-write it.
News that really matters.
A newspaper that actually prints news items not Sensationalism.
Beware of ‘Offers’
I downloaded the app and took advantage of the 6 months for £1 offer which popped up when I opened the first page. The paper charged me £99 and refuses to refund as the app came via Apple and I’ve had an Independent subscription in the past. It seems the offer is only open to new customers. I’ve cancelled my subscription and have deleted the app. If I could leave no stars I would. I feel like I’ve been mugged and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Listening
I was reading the article then I found out you could listen to it wonderfully!
App misleading, no free option
The actual news content is ok but the app misleads you into thinking that there is a no subscription option, then suddenly says you have read all your free articles. I am happy with an add supported app for an app I will not be using frequently.
Content needs more proofreading and spell checking
Relatively independent views. Decent coverage but frequent spelling and missing word issues. Unfortunately, they’re caught up in obsession with anything to do with the younger royals with the standard bias against Harry and Megan. If that’s not true, then the suggested proofreading might help mitigate the evidence. Happy to revise if the case changes.
Poor overall
The app while functional does not allow comments but its main flaws are: 1. Lack of content - only a few changes to the articles each day, while other newspaper outlets have a flurry. 2. It seems to be “dumbing down” it now has an ever increasing number of gossip and tabloid type stories in conjunction with “celebrity” “news.” All in all, avoid.
