The League is a dating app for ambitious singles. For those who know what they want and refuse to settle. While some may call us exclusive or elite, in reality, we just have standards for entry - unlike every other matchmaking app out there. We believe 3 quality matches are better than 100 bad profiles. Say goodbye to endless swiping, and hello to matches you'll actually want to meet. Some may say you're picky, we say you're self aware.
You can browse The League for free as a Guest, or you can become a Member by purchasing a subscription. Membership doubles your matches and supports our mission (bit.ly/leaguemission) to foster equal relationships across the globe.
Depending on what term you choose, your Membership will last for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, and automatically renew at those intervals from the point of purchase onward. If you wish to cancel your membership before it renews, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions can be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. Quality of prospects vs money charged is imbalanced
So the app takes a frustratingly long time to accept you as a member. This is to try and filter you out and make sure you are a top prospect. However there seems to be a huge imbalance as the prospects that are sent to me either live miles away or are simply not what I would call elite. They other problem is they try to push the ladies who look like models - ultimately who will be out of my league so there is a massive mismatch. They only send three prospects per day. This just doesn’t work. It might if they were local, had similar interests etc then perhaps. Additionally women don’t tend to search for men. They set up the profile and sit back whilst hundreds of messages reach them from men and they take their pick. So like all apps this one is also flawed.
Then there is the big one. In order to do anything with this app (navigation is not intuitive) then be prepared to hit the big money. However if your going to spend this k d of money you are better off joining an elite dating agency who will be so much better in actively searching and arranging by dates with people who will be a good match.
The idea behind this app is good but the people on it can be found on tinder and bumble. Certainly not the app and quality of people it portrays. A real shame.
Empty
It’s like a ghost town. They advertise lots of people available, but in reality there’s very few active users. When you do get a match there’s often radio silence. It’s bad for your mental health, nobody talks or communicates. The pace is very slow, wait till 5pm to like people and then wait for matches. Sad because it’s a good idea but doesn’t work. It’s a numbers game at the end of the day. This is just a scam
Unbelievably awful. Total ripoff. For oligarchs only.
I saw The League advertised on Instagram and the idea of a velvet-rope type dating app that promises a better quality of prospects (as all members have to be checked and approved before they can join), appealed to the snooty side of me. I liked it even more when I was approved within 24 hours.
Once I was in, the app proved difficult to navigate and very unintuitive, but I persevered. I read all the messages from the ‘Concierge’, who seemed very keen to point out she was a real person, but who made me feel really embarrassed for engaging with her as it quickly became apparent she’s just an AI salesbot.
The quality of the three daily dates they suggested was - to be mean but honest - average. And not at all compatible. Every day, they got worse. This leads me to believe there are very few users on the app.
Of course, I could upgrade to get more suggested dates a day, or to search for others, but get this - the cheapest membership is… wait for it…
£94.99 A WEEK OR £269.99 A MONTH!
AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE IS £2499.99 A MONTH!!!
I kid you not. You read this correctly. Even an oil state sheik would wince at paying this, especially as the dating pool of prospects is so shallow.
So, in summary, if you want an app that’s difficult to use, has a very small pool of users and potential dates, and requires you to remortgage your house to find a match, this app is absolutely perfect. For the rest of us, avoid it like the plague.
Impossible to delete account
I created an account to see what the app was like, after going through the onboarding process I decided it wasn’t for me but there is nowhere on the app to delete your profile, you have to submit a request to delete it!?
Not only that, you can’t take down any information or pictures you’ve uploaded, I’ve had to replace it with black images.
I’ve emailed The League twice now to help me delete my account and had no response. Almost feels like a scam that you can’t remove or delete your one information.
Don't waste your time
Only for a select group, if you were to stay in the waiting line until it's your time, it definitely will be a couple of years. I believe they leave you on the waiting list to get you to pay for their members only which is expensive.
So, don't waist your time!
Barely functional
One of the buggiest apps I’ve ever used.
You can hardly navigate to another page without it telling you to pay a subscription.
Pretty sure they don’t vet everyone on the app, and if they do the requirement is just ‘have a job on your LinkedIn profile’. My profile got approved in about two hours and there were still over 80,000 people in the queue ahead of me.
The UI/UX isn’t nice to use. It’s clunky - largely due to the loading mechanism every time the app requests data. But also due to the pop ups that appear after every single action. If your ui doesn’t make it obvious enough what a button does, you should fix your yo rather than having a modal explain what the user just did. But mostly because of it incessantly asking you to purchase a subscription.
Dont bother
You cant use the app until you get verified and the only way to get verified is to pay money
Scam
This app is a scam. Their algorithm works against you, you will never find a match. They do this to keep you in the app and make you spend more, hoping that you will find a match. I have deleted myself after 3 months of getting profiles that were the total opposite to what I set in my preferences. And after I would get my messages and candidates disappear. This is all done by the algorithm to prevent you from finding a match and exiting the app. Don’t waste your time and money!
Good concept, bad execution
They’ve recently removed the ability to add friends and made this a paid option (not that it was anyone accepted or noticed these requests). Any matches or friends on this app do not respond. The more local or those matching your criteria will never show up on the daily list - these users are reserved for power users. The only way to make any progress on this app is to pay.
