The New Yorker Reviews

Subscription fault

Eecla Ee on

United Kingdom

Subscribed 5 days ago still not received account number or email confirmation but happy to take my money - still can’t read any articles behind paywall.

Make it Sticky

TfL User on

United Kingdom

The app offers good access to the paper. BUT if you want to cancel, that is near impossible. (Need account number, which is not listed anywhere). Time for legislation for one click cancellations to come into force.

Terrible sign in process and functionality

Enormous Data Usage

David54ev on

United Kingdom

Prompted by an email I opened the app to read an article. I couldn’t read it because my subscription had expired. Fair enough. Following any of the links promoted me to subscribe. Again no problem. However the 15 minutes spent on the app used up 1/2 gig of mobile data. Similar experience when I tried the app again. A couple of hours and my allowance for the month would be used up!!

Great writing, bad app.

SM Miah on

United Kingdom

If it wasn’t for the great writing, I’d have unsubscribed ages ago. The app experience is so lacking. The Conde Nast login system is awful and needs fixing. The lack of dark mode in a reading app is unacceptable. The inability to change text size in the app is unacceptable. I don’t want to change system wide font size just to get bigger text in TNY app. Come on! If I didn't know better, I’d say this app is an afterthought for TNY’s management folks.

missing night mode feature

CamilleJamais on

United Kingdom

The New Yorker app offers a sleek and intuitive interface with well-formatted articles and vibrant images. However, it lacks a night mode feature, which makes reading at night straining on the eyes. Adding a night mode would greatly enhance the reading experience for users who prefer low-light conditions. Despite this, the app remains a fantastic resource for high-quality journalism and literature.

Great content

archives_of_the_technomancer on

Be nice if there was a one-touch way on going back to the home page, instead of hitting Back several times

Terrible

Dop89 on

United Kingdom

Keeps loosing my subscription - and ask me to renew when I have paid for one. Love the content but this is the worst magazine online app I have seen

Persistently logs out

Psephos on

United Kingdom

My app persistently requires me to log back in with my subscription, which is incredibly frustrating. When the app works it’s great, but get the basics right.

Now the App hangs

GCW3 on

United Kingdom

After the latest update the app hangs or crashes. Bug in there somewhere.
