Throwback New York Experience

jam_nyc on

I deleted this app and have opted for a good old fashion New York City experience! Now I just show up to the platform whenever and stand and wait and pray and sweat and crane my neck to look down into the darkness of the tunnel (behind the yellow line of course)! Will the train come? Maybe, maybe not! What an exciting and real time rush! Maybe I’ll make it to that job interview but will I be able to make the three transfers? Are those trains even running? Who knows? Exciting! Yellow tape and hand posters are my new best friends again! They got rid of the station agents and those eta screens rarely works so its the wild days down under ground! I like to pretend Im back in the 80s or byo strap and go even farther back in time, either way I get by with my street smarts and grit, patience and a TON of underground cursing! Thanks for the inspiration MTA!

Smart favorites prompt blocks info and won’t close

Bantam75 on

I opened up the app to see if there were any changes to my favorite routes. Unfortunately there was a prompt for “smart favorites “ blocking the info I needed to see. I’m not interested in setting that up, but I can’t get rid of the prompt. I followed the prompt and clicked on “maybe later “ since there wasn’t an option for no. It just returned me to the prompt that was still blocking the info I need to see.

As dismal as their service

Mike D (NYC) on

I hoped for better, but this app is unfortunately on par with everything else from the MTA. It takes to much effort to get to something simple, and it comes up short. Couple that with the need to register for basic features, and you have at best a marginal app that’s as much a necessary evil as the subways are. It’s ridiculous to believe this is the second or maybe third iteration of this app. Has the MTA not looked at the features of other apps when they designed this? Or is this app intentionally poorly designed to drive us to apps that do their job better, but come with a monthly subscription?

Old app was much better

SeattleNyc on

Please tell me how to get the old app back! I don't know where to beging about how horrible the new app is. I feel so lost when I use it.

Bring Back the Old App!

szreich on

The old app was fantastic. I was able to get train information within a few seconds. It’s now far more cumbersome to navigate to simple information, requiring far more clicks to find out the time of the next subway. Please bring back the old app!

Stops always missing on bus routes

MaggieSzip on

Literally half the bus stops just arent on the bus maps anymore, theyre there for one direction and not the other. What happened? Just use the old way buses worked, bec it actually worked

And it just gets worse

GoodDudeNY on

It continues to locate me near Grand Central Station, no matter which part of NYC I’m in. Then…here I was on the upper east side at 86/2. Where does this locate me? In south Brooklyn near the Hudson River. FIRE. THESE. DEVELOPERS. ITS. IRREPARABLE. Actually, no, let me know where I can have someone pay me for being this bad. Just checked now after the “update.” It shows I’m at Grand Central when I’m at the E train station Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike. I’m thinking there’s a Qui Tam action against the developer for fraud. See you in court.

I don’t like new update

Old app very good

Idk….

iwuwueyeuwu on

It’s a good app gets the job done it’s just that you have to know how to use it, very accurate to me at least.

Worst update ever - go back to beta

BVP14 on

Why was this so much better in beta mode? Bring back the old app, this refresh is terrible. Innacurate, not as organized (results) and I’ve had to uninstall/reinstall several times.
